🧡🦺SAFETY FIRST🦺🧡

We would just like to remind everyone of the importance of keeping our furry friends safe! We require your furry friend to be on a leash or in a carrier when entering our facility. This not only helps protect your furry friends, but it also protects their fellow furry friends. We do understand that your animal may do well off the leash or out of their carrier, however that is not the case for everyone! Keeping your animals leashed and in carriers helps ensure the safety of everyone in the vicinity.

•We understand that sometimes putting cats in carriers can be a nightmare! We attached a picture that gives you tips on how to properly acclimate them into their traveling safe space!

•Start leash training early! If your animal is food motivated, food always goes a long way! This doesn’t rule out our geriatric friends, we promise it’s not always “too late to teach an old dog new tricks”😉.

If you ever find yourself without a leash or carrier when coming to your furry friends appointement, please let our lovely ladies up front know! We are always willing to lend a leash or carrier for their visit!

🔥🥵ATTENTION🥵🔥

Unfortunately our Air Conditioning unit is no longer in service, and it could potentially be a couple of days or longer to have this fixed. We apologize because we understand how hot it is! Please bear with us while we try to resolve this issue!

We understand that the heat is not always friendly! If you are easily affected by the heat and you need to reschedule, please call us to discuss this, or if you would like to stay in your car, we will have a technician come out to grab your furry friend and return them once the appointment is over! We apologize for the inconvenience.

If you would like to make the arrangements ahead of time for us to come out and grab your furry friend, please call the office so we can make a note for you! ☎️

🥶Remember to please be patient and kind with our staff, as we are also continuing to work without AC🥶

🇺🇸REMINDER OF UPCOMING HOLIDAY CLOSURE🇺🇸

July 4th is quickly approaching, we would just like to remind everyone that the office will be closed on Thursday, July 4th. We will be offering emergency hours from 8am-10pm, for established clients only! We will reopen the office with normal business hours on Friday, July 5th.

💊MEDICATION REFILLS💊

🐾More pets go missing July 4-6 than any other time of year. There is a 30%-60% increase in lost pets each year between those dates! Below are some tips to help keep our furry friends safe during your July 4th Celebrations🐾:

• Keep your furry friend indoors.

• Provide a calm quiet environment.

• Keep calming aids on hand such as calming medications, toys, and Thundershirts!

• Exercising your pets helps release energy and tires them out!

Unfortunately we understand that things can happen, so it is always smart to keep an updated photo on hand, as well as microchip information if they have them!

☎️We also ask that you please be kind to our front desk staff, as they are filling many requests for our upcoming closure☎️

🔥 HEAT ALERT 🔥

The next upcoming days are going to be extremely warm! Here are some tips to help keep our furry friends safe:

• Provide shade and cool water.

• We all know our furry friends love to be outdoors, but for their safety let’s limit that the next couple of days and keep them indoors as much as possible! This includes limiting their walks and exercise!

• As a reminder, our cars become extremely hot and internal temperatures can be hotter than the outdoors.

• Things like Ice packs wrapped in a towel, or a wet cold towel can also be very helpful to us in these circumstances. Much like us, our animals can become overheated, so putting these tools on their paw pads, groin and armpits can help keep them cool! If you notice signs of Heat Stroke, hose your dog off with cool, NOT cold water and contact your veterinarian as soon as possible!

‼️ IMPORTANT: CHANGE IN EMERGENCY SERVICES ‼️

Starting February 1st, 2022 we will be limiting our after hours emergency services. The emergency service line will be available from close until midnight Monday to Saturday and 8 am to midnight Sunday for established clients only (clients who are seen on regular basis with their pets). We offer emergency services to our clients as a courtesy and reducing hours is our way of being able to maintain this courtesy without having to remove it completely.

This is out of respect for the safety and time of our doctors and staff given the current climate within veterinary medicine. There is a shortage of doctors and support staff in veterinary medicine and we are not an emergency hospital (meaning we may not have appropriate staff and equipment to handle true overnight emergencies). More recently the emergency line has been being used inappropriately.

This will have no effect on our regular hours. We will still be open Mon to Fri 8-6 and Sat 8-12.

Below is a list of veterinary clinics currently providing after hours emergency services. Each hospital is different so please be sure to contact them before driving to their facility.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients for their understanding and patience with our staff. While we are scheduling routine and new patient visits about 4 weeks out, many practices nearby are either not accepting new clients or scheduling in mid to late January. The receptionists and technicians are doing their best to accommodate a larger number of clients with the same amount of time and a busier schedule than we have ever had.

Clients who are rude and demanding do nothing more than exacerbate an already stressful situation. We appreciate those clients who are flexible and polite to the individuals providing frontline care and we do reserve the right to dismiss clients who are repeatedly abusive to our office staff. We have never had to implement a policy like this before, but this sadly has become a far more prevalent issue. Please continue to be kind and help us serve you better.

If we are not able to accommodate you in what you consider to be a timely manner, please see the numbers for several emergency clinics below.

Today is World Rabies Day! Our staff wore blue and green today, the colors of World Rabies Day. Rabies still effects thousands of humans worldwide each year. So far in Bradford county this year, there have been 2 confirmed cases of rabies, both in raccoons.
