The Christmas Elves are hard at work! What a fun and joyous season it has been at Oak Grove Animal Clinic! Our amazing staff has kept the place running with cheer while enjoying Christmas stockings and catered lunches in between saving lives! Weā€™re so thankful this holiday season for our awesome staff and each of our amazing clients and patients who have helped us make the dream of Oak Grove Animal Clinic a reality! Remember, we are here Christmas Eve until 11pm and back the day after Christmas from 2pm - 11pm for all of your urgent care needs! Sweet Nelli was brought in to be euthanized at age 15. She had severe dental disease, allergies and mammary tumors. These diseases all required treatment and care after a lifetime of neglect. The receptionist at the clinic asked if she could take the pup instead of euthanizing her, the owners agreed, and Nelliā€™s second chance at life began. Her new ā€œmomā€ had dental surgery done for her, surgery to remove her masses, started her on a special diet and on allergies shots for her skin issues. Nelli ruled the roost at her new house, telling her new canine and feline siblings who was boss. With her little 7 lb self, she made her way into everyoneā€™s heart! After 3 beautiful years of snuggles, favorite treats, car rides, birthday parties, and so much love, Nelliā€™s health began to decline. Her mom did everything to keep her comfortable, until it became obvious that it was time for her to cross the rainbow bridge. Nelli, her mom, her aunt and all the doctors and techs at Oak Grove who love Nelli so much, surrounded her with love while they said goodbye. Nelli passed peacefully in her momā€™s arms, content and thankful for a life so wonderfully lived. At the time of year when we think about unconditional love, second chances and selfless acts of service, we are thankful for people like Nelliā€™s mom. Spending countless hours, funds and so much loving effort to make life better for a little pup in need. Thank you to all the amazing rescue moms and dads who give second chances to dogs and cats who so desperately need them. ā¤ļøšŸŽ„šŸ¾

Thanks to UGA for the delicious cookies and beautiful Christmas Greetings! We are so thankful to live in a town with such a phenomenal speciality teaching hospital! The University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital is there 24/7 to help us with consults, transfers and continuation of care! Their amazing staff is kind and caring and always willing to speak with our doctors regarding difficult cases! Dr. Emily has recently been working with Dr. Dantas of UGAā€™s behavior service on a difficult behavior case. We are so appreciative of the expert care that UGAā€™s amazing specialists provide!

Our own Dr. Jacob went to visit his old stomping grounds at to visit his mentor, Dr. Shih. Dr. Shih is a boarded specialist and trained Dr. Jacob in the world of emergency medicine and urgent care! Dr. Shih also holds a special place in Dr. Emilyā€™s heart as he is the doctor who took care of her beloved Rottweiler, Athena, during her last months of life after her cancer diagnosis. is a 24 hour emergency and specialty hospital and works closely with us at Oak Grove Animal Clinic when patient transfer and continued care is needed. Puppy Visits

Oso came to visit us for his second round of puppy vaccines and a 9 week check-up! His mom has been working hard at home to socialize and train Oso, and he loved showing off his tricks for us. Oso got lots of treats, and we received tons of puppy love and kisses in return, so it was a win win for everyone! We love seeing healthy habits in our patients starting from a young age, and we are always here to help guide pet parents towards creating those healthy habits!
