This good boy was found running in traffic and an Athens City resident stopped him and contacted Athens Animal Control. He was safely brought to the shelter, and, because he was microchipped, we quickly located his family, let them know he was safe and sound, and he was reunited with his family within one business day. 💛

A lot of lost pets end up at local shelters. Microchipped pets are typically quickly returned to their owners. This is why microchips matter. Please get your pets microchipped!

Microchipping with registration is available at our shelter.

The stray hold for Triage is up, and the loveable goof is now available for adoption!
Triage was named as a nod to the Athens Hospital staff. He was found trying to get into the hospital cafeteria to ensure no burgers went to waste. The hospital staff graciously parted with a burger so he could sample it. He approved.

Triage is a happy boy who just wants to play.
He is not cat friendly, so he will need a cat-free home.

This is Libre. He is a playful, energetic, and very friendly cuddle bug who just wants to love on everyone. His goofy faces and silly antics kep us laughing, and his perpetual happy mood is infectious. Libre would do best with a yard where he can run and play. He would likely make a good running partner and would do well in a home with an active lifestle.
