About Reba:
Reba is still adjusting to the world around her, and her initial fearfulness comes from her past experiences. She’s sweet and affectionate once she feels secure, but she will need patience and understanding as she continues to build confidence. About the Plott Hound Breed:
Plott Hounds are a highly intelligent and energetic breed known for their strong hunting instincts and determination. Originally bred in the mountains of North Carolina for tracking and treeing large game like boar, Plott Hounds are courageous and loyal. They have a sleek, muscular build, and their striking brindle coat makes them stand out in a crowd.

Meet Hennessy!

Hennessy is a 1-year-old husky with a big heart and an even bigger personality! We originally thought his previous owner would be coming to reclaim him, but after waiting patiently, it seems Hennessy’s forever family is still out there, just waiting to find him.

At 41lbs, Hennessy is on the smaller side for a husky, which makes him the perfect size to snuggle on the couch or join you for an outdoor adventure. His playful nature shines through as he’s currently working on mastering his basic commands like sit, stay, and walking politely on a leash. Hennessy is eager to learn, and he’s making great progress—he’s well on his way to being a well-behaved companion!

One of his most endearing traits is his “strut” when he walks. He has this adorable prance that will put a smile on your face every time you take him out for a stroll. Dipper is an 8-month-old Border Collie mix, and this sweet boy is ready to find a family who can keep up with his playful energy and intelligence! He’s been at the shelter for 10 weeks, and in that time, he’s proven himself to be a loving, quick learner. Dipper already knows the "sit" command and is eager to learn even more as he continues to grow and explore.

As a Border Collie mix, Dipper exhibits all the traits of his breed—he’s active, smart, and full of energy. He loves to play and interact, but can sometimes get a little excited and show some hu***ng behavior, which is something he’s still working on. That said, he’s an incredibly good boy overall, and with some guidance, he'll continue to improve.

One of Dipper’s standout qualities is how well he gets along with other animals. He’s been in our office off-leash with Momo, the office cat, and has shown no interest in him, which is a great sign for any potential homes with cats. Dipper also does well with other dogs, making him a great choice for a multi-pet household!

Jax came into our shelter last week as a stray, and is now looking for his forever home. We have estimated him to be around 8 months old and he is just the most precious boy.

Jax is well-behaved in his kennel, but loves going to roam and prance around in the play yard. He also enjoys the company of a nice lap for him to try and lay on.

If you are considering opening your heart and home for Jax, note there will need to be many tennis balls as we learned he will wear himself out with them!

🎉 Happy Gotcha Day, Ashton! 🎉

Today marks a very special day—Ashton’s Gotcha Day, the day he was brought into his forever home. Ashton was found under a house, uncertain and alone, but thanks to his amazing new family, he now knows nothing but love and comfort. 💕

Ashton may be FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but that hasn’t stopped him from living his best life! He’s thriving with his family, surrounded by affection, cozy spots, and all the attention he deserves. FIV+ cats can live long, happy lives, and Ashton is proof that love is what truly matters. 🐾

A huge thank you to his wonderful new family for opening their hearts and their home to this sweet boy. Your willingness to adopt an FIV+ cat is a gift to him and to all of us who believe that every cat deserves a chance, no matter their health status. 🌟

Meet Trey – The Big-Headed, Big-Hearted American Bully!

Trey is a 2-year-old American Bully with a heart as big as his head! This sweet boy is full of love, learning quickly, and ready to find his forever family. While Trey is still perfecting his manners, he’s already making amazing progress in his foster home. He’s a quick learner and loves his people, including his current foster's three-legged cat—Trey is gentle and affectionate, showering the cat with sweet licks and a lot of love!

Trey is a laid-back dog at heart. He sleeps soundly through the night and is learning to be house-trained with positive reinforcement. With his playful energy, Trey loves going on walks and exploring the world around him, but he’s also a big fan of snuggling up for some belly rubs. When he rolls over for a belly rub, you can tell he’s ready to relax and enjoy the attention!

Although Trey is heartworm positive, his treatment will be fully covered thanks to donations from Athens Animal Services and the Limestone Veterinary Clinic. He’s receiving the care he needs and is well on his way to a full recovery.

Mabel is a sweet Lab-Boxer mix who is ready to find her forever home! At around 8 months to 1 year old, she’s already proven to be a loving and teachable companion. Mabel entered the shelter with her brother back in mid-November, and in that time, she’s shown what a wonderful pup she is.

Mabel enjoys lounging beside her person, content with a toy in her mouth, and she does well with both dogs and cats, with a proper introduction. She’s also a quick learner—already mastering the "sit" command, and eager to learn more as she continues her training. If you're looking for a dog who’s not only loving but also motivated and ready to work, Mabel could be the perfect fit!

Mabel, like many Lab-Boxer mixes, will thrive in an active household. Unfortunately we have another sad update. Coffman was adopted on Saturday but was just brought back this morning. Coffman is a large, 87 pound Shepherd mix that is just around a year old and seems to not have any prior training since coming to our shelter. He is extremely sweet, and is unaware of how large he is. He needs lots of work when walking on a leash, and will need a home with experience with large breed dogs.
