Thank you for a wonderful first show of the season. Full classes made for a long day but smiling faces made if worth it!
We had a great clinic Sunday with Alexis Poe. I highly recommend our Chattanooga community reaching out to her!
Big Thank you to Ashley Jenkins for judging and supporting our show.
We will see you all in May in Athens at the Mcminn Expo Center!

Hi all, A quick update.
For Friday night. The circus will still be at Tri State moving out.
We will have schooling in the warm up arena with some jumps. However, full set up will have to be Saturday morning.
Moving into stabling will still go as planned for Friday.

Alexis Poe has competed through the 2-star level in Eventing and spent the last five years working with top professionals, including two Olympic riders. She’s passionate about teaching and loves helping riders grow their confidence, reach their goals, and build stronger partnerships with their horses. At her core, Alexis has a huge heart for horses, and she brings that same care and dedication to every lesson, creating a fun and supportive environment for riders of all levels.

Alexis will be teaching both Flat only or a Flat/Jump combo lesson on Sunday after the show. $100 for flat only, $150 for Combo lesson. Stabling is available at Tri State for the Weekend! I have some more good news to share.
The Mcminn Expo Center will be replacing the footing over the coming winter!
They are looking at options for watering the new footing and we are discussing adding panels for the facility to enlarge the arena space!
This is great news for our show community!
I will keep everyone posted as they make progress.
If you get a moment, drop the Mcminn County Mayors office a line to show your support of this.
We need this support to continue the series!

That's a wrap 2024!
It's been an amazing year of growth for so many riders. Thank you for sharing your journey with us!
I'm going to post the final year end awards standings in another post. If you did not catch the awards at the show, please get in touch with me.
Giant thank you to our judges for always being encouraging . Thank you Debbie for being our amazing secretary and Charlie for manning the gate all year. It does take a village! If you are willing to volunteer please see us, as we do need more help!
Thank you to Lori and everyone at Jonesborough Equestrian for stepping in Friday night to help set up and for your help at the show. As usual I'm terrible at getting photos! If you have a photo please share it!

Get your entries in by Halloween before you trick or treat!! Remember our volunteers work full time jobs in addition to running farms and families. Please have your entry in on time and legible.
This show will be in Athens. Mid Life Frysis will be serving up Lunch!

Hello everyone here are the dates as promised! We are moving towards a 2 day show starting in May. Dates are: March 3 (single day show, 2 arenas) May 12- 13 July 14-15 September 8-9 October 20-21 (Halloween show and Ride to beat Cancer) November 9- First Annual SMHSS AWARDS BANQUET English will be on Saturdays starting at 8, Sundays will be Western and Gaited starting at 1pm. Cowboy church will proceed the show on Sunday for those interested. You will not want to miss the great things we have planned for 2018!

The Smoky Mountain Horse Show series (founded in 2012 by Matthew Lawson and Ashley Jenkins) is the first show of its kind that offers a “Big” horse show experience but at a cost that is affordable. We have put together a great horse show series that has many fun and competitive classes while teaching hard work and discipline to the students and trainers that participate.

SMHSS is a dedicated group of horsemen and women committed to facilitating a positive, family friendly horse show environment for all ages and disciplines. We believe in promoting good sportsmanship, integrity, as well as animal husbandry and care practices. It is our goal to educate today's children, as they are tomorrows professionals and leaders in our sport. Horse shows encourage personal and community growth and development, while promoting local businesses, education and enrichment.
