Plan your work and work your plan.
 
Our property started with a vision of having our own place to develop retrievers that we would be proud to hunt over. Much like the training process, we have worked on this plan in the development of our property. It definitely didn’t come over night, and we probably will never be completely satisfied with it, but man, we sure are proud of it. While you’re on the grind, driving towards that goal, make sure you take the time to reflect on where you started and the process that has gotten you to where you are now. Trust the process!

SKIN IN THE GAME

As both breeders and trainers, we are fully invested. Every trainer wants all of their client dogs to succeed… but it’s different when you’re the one who bred the dog.

Since we started, SOK has focused primarily on training retrievers from our own breedings. We never have the luxury of washing dogs out because we don’t like something about them. They’re all a direct result of our decision making process.

To say we’ve learned a lot about the way SOK labs tick would be a massive understatement. We’ve had to learn how they like to learn. We’ve had to adjust and re-adjust to find a pathway toward success for the ones who aren’t as easy as all the others. We don’t give up on them… we use our collective decades of experience to get the absolute most out of their genetic potential.

Why?

Because we’ve got skin in the game.
