Happy birthday to one of our facility dogs, Huxen! Hux turned 2 today and has big things ahead of him this year. We are aiming to put him on the trial field in September of this year 🤞🏻 Thank you for all the lessons you’ve taught us Huxen!

Say hi to Blaze! Blaze is a 3 year old mini Aussie with some behavioral issues. He is reactive with dogs and humans, especially when mom is around. He can’t visit the vet without being put under, and can be aggressive when getting groomed by his family. We definitely have some work ahead of us 😎

Bronco, a 2 and a half year old Staffy mix, is here for a 6 week board and train. Bronco has some stranger danger issues and needed some help with his obedience. He has made such big strides with his training while with us and can’t wait to show his family his progress!

Obi is an 11 month old poodle that’s with us for 4 weeks for some obedience training and some help with his manners! Obi is incredibly sweet and likes jumping on new people. He’s already adapting so well and as you can see, is having a blast learning new things.

Say hello to our pack of Goldendoodles! Goldie, Palmer, and Drex are all here with us for our 6 week board and train. They all come from the same home and even the same breeder!

They all have some issues with jumping and barking and some other nuisance behaviors that we will work through during their stay.

Her sister is coming to stay with us for 4 weeks soon so they can be worked together after Mamey has some foundational work done! She loves to please and is already having fun learning new things, we can’t wait to see how she does once her sister is here!

Everyone say hi to Murph! Murph is a 3 year old bernedoodle that is with us for our 6 week board and train. Murph struggles with some separation anxiety issues as well as a few others things. He has been with us for 2 weeks now and is making great progress. We can’t wait to see where he’s at when he’s done!

Congrats to Polly and Bob for graduating from our basic obedience private lesson package! Bob is a 2 year old German shepherd mix with lots of energy that needed some help with obedience and leash walking! ✨ Leash Pressure ✨ Do you struggle walking your dog? There are two big reasons for this. 1. Your dog has strong opposition reflexes that have been bred into them for hundreds of years. 2. Your dog pulling on the leash is usually rewarding! Yes you read that right, negative reinforcement is a scare word in today's society (we'll talk about that in another post) but it is incredibly reinforcing to your dog. When your dog pulls and relieves the pressure, because you speed up your tempo to keep up, or you lose the leash, it learns that pulling harder makes the pressure stop. This learning happens FAST!
