February is spay/neuter month!! 😽🐾

Getting your pet fixed can help with things like overpopulation, behavioral issues, and improve their health.
Below we are gonna list some reasons it’s important to get your pet fixed, once they are fully up to date on vaccines!💉🩺

1. Spaying female dogs and cats eliminates the possibility of uterine or ovarian cancer.
2. Neutered cats are less likely to feel the need too spray and mark territory.
3. Spayed or neutered pets are less likely to bite, be aggressive, or have behavioral issues.

Did you guys know that February is dental health month for dogs?? 🦷💙

There is a lot of at home care you can do for your dog that can help keep his/her teeth as clean as possible!!
1. Brush your dog’s teeth - This helps remove food, bacteria, and plaque before it hardens, calcifies, and turns into tough to remove tarter.🪥
2. Schedule a professional dental cleaning - While regular brushing at home is crucial, it cannot replay the thorough examination and cleaning a veterinarian can provide. 👨🏻‍⚕️👩🏼‍⚕️
3. Incorporate dog dental chews - Dental chews especially help clean a dog’s back teeth where dogs do all their chewing. 🦴

Lucy is a 9 week old berniedoodle!! Lucy was so happy that Dr. Talberts son, Graham was at the clinic and got to play with him!

We wanted to take this time to talk about the importance of pet-friendly salt for the ground! ❄️🌨️ Did you know that winter salt can be harmful to a dog paw pad? 🤔 Many de-icing salts contain chemicals like sodium chloride, which can irritate a dog's skin and paw pads. Here are some specific concerns: Irritation and Burns: The salt can cause dryness, cracking, or burning of the paw pads, leading to discomfort or pain.
