Happy New Year & Welcome to The Monthly Harvest! 🌱

At the top of each month, we’ll share updates and opportunities from our GrowEdu Program and what’s happening inside our learning lab. You’ll get a closer look at how we Grow Together—on the farm and in the community—along with ways you can grow alongside us.

And because we love cooking the food we grow, you can also expect seasonal recipes and inspiration so you can bring it into your own kitchen, too.

This newsletter is our way to check in, stay connected, and continue cultivating community. Sign up to receive The Monthly Harvest, and if you ever have questions, feel free to reply or reach out—we’d love to hear from you. ☺️🌿

🌱Did you know the GrowBlock grows our favorite new year’s staple really well! You get nutrient rich collard greens by easily taking care of your system.

Add nutrients and water when necessary and on days like today you can cook them up and share an abundance of love with friends and family!

How do you harvest collard greens in the GrowBlock?
• Start from the back and snip the biggest leaves first right at the stem.
• Never cut the whole plant! & Never snip the babies. Let them keep growing
• Clean your greens however you like (much easier with fewer pest growing hydroponically)
• Cook up your favorite collard greens recipe!

Happy New Year!

One of the things we love about our STEM Partners is that they invite us in to be immersed in all the good work they’re doing for their students. It’s not just about hydroponics; it’s hydroponics and so much more! Students deserve exposure because they deserve choices.

While at we got to meet their chickens! It was such a cool experience. For Greg, a true GA country boy this was like going back home. For Marasia, she just couldn’t get over the fact that she could feel the chicken’s heartbeat. 😂

Things become real when we can touch them with our hands, feel their breath, return home and so much more! And that’s why hands on learning is so important and at the center of what we do!🌱

Have you ever considered what it would be like to set up a hydroponics GrowBlock in your school?

Students need hands on project based learning as well as real world exposure. That is why what we do with our GrowEdu program through hydroponics is so unique. Our goal is to provide a service that supports the learning and development of school aged students. Each project is designed to relate to the current curriculum students are learning and help students understand how hydroponics can be a real solution for growing your own food making fresh food more accessible all year round.

Learn about Love Thrive’s CHaRM facility with us! We took a field trip to understand how we can turn our waste into resources.

“The Centers for Hard to Recycle Materials (CHaRM) facility is a premier program of the nonprofit, Live Thrive. With two permanent drop-off facilities that aim to improve our environmental health by encouraging reuse and diverting thousands of pounds of household hazardous waste and other hard-to-recycle items from Metro-Atlanta landfills and water systems. Both CHaRM locations also accept sorted single-stream items for those who do not have access. All operations expenses for the CHaRM facilities are paid from grants, sponsorships, donations and recycling fees.”

Happy Friday Growers!

Enjoy the fruits of your labor by slowing down to have a sip of what you harvested🌱🍵 We are sipping lemon balm, freshly harvested on The Farm.

The best part of the GrowBlock experience is you get to grow and harvest your FAVORITE herbs. Herbs have so many medicinal benefits. Of course we encourage you to do the research and talk with your health provider. But plants are the perfect way to take self care into your own hands🌱

Harvesting Fresh Lemon Balm Pt 1.

One of our favorite uses of the herbs we grow on the farm is simply making tea. Here we are taking a few sprigs of fresh lemon balm and steeping a lemony and calming tea🍵

Everyone loves a good cup of tea during this brisk weather. What’s your favorite tea to sip this time of year?

💧Hydroponics makes fresh, local food possible. Vertical gardens allow us to grow many plants in a small space. We grow at least 70 plant variations that successfully thrive in the GrowBlock.

Expanding your possibilities starts with looking at alternative healthy methods to solve real problems in your community. Produce’d intentionally supports your journey to a whole and healthy life🌱
