Hera and her Warrior Puppies
We are thrilled to report that Hera and her warrior puppies are turning the corner and finally starting to test negative for parvo. Momma Hera is now eating and drinking on her own and has been cleared to move into a foster home.
But working to get Hera strong also meant bottle-feeding her babies for her. We are in critical need of more puppy formula, so we can continue to care for families like Hera's.

Specter's Journey
When we opened our doors at the Arthur M. Blank Family Animal Center last year, we knew the lives of Atlanta's animals would be changed forever. The facility was, in part, designed to minimize fear and stress in shelter animals, increase our ability to provide behavior enrichment and training, and grow our support of volunteer foster families.
For animals like Specter, these improvements are critical. And your gift right now will be triple-matched to support animals just like him for Giving Tuesday.
Since he first came into our care nearly a year ago, Specter has benefited from our dedicated Behavior Team's work to reduce his unwanted behaviors caused by overstimulation. And when our team determined that living in a foster home would be the best next step for him to learn about life with a family, he truly flourished.

Give Penny Something to be Thankful For
Penny is thankful for second chances ❤️
We first met Penny almost two years ago when she was transferred into our care from a rural county shelter. In the months that followed, Penny made great strides towards becoming a more confident dog.
She came out of her shell and quickly became a staff and volunteer favorite due to her loving nature. We were so happy for her on the day that she got adopted, but then she came back into our care several months later. And then it happened again, with another adoption and return.
Since coming back into our care, it’s apparent that Penny has made several steps backwards. She’s incredibly fearful of most things and when we aren’t visiting her in her kennel, she jumps at loud noises, cowers in the corner, and struggles to walk outside.
She’s working with our dedicated Behavior Team to increase her confidence, but this sweet girl needs a patient adopter or foster caregiver who will continue working with her and understand her special needs.

Adopted Dog Brock Helps Community
Atlanta Humane has always been a special organization to Laura Aiken. Her father, Rick Aiken, was interim CEO from 2013 to 2014 and worked to help break up a dog fighting ring during his tenure.
So when Laura was ready to adopt a dog late last year, she knew where to go to find her new best friend. She immediately connected with Brock and knew he would fit her lifestyle well.
