REMINDER!!!! Unearthing Farm & Market is hosting our community yard sale THIS SATURDAY, August 24th from 9 am - 3 pm. Find amazing deals on gently used treasures while supporting our nonprofit. Our pay-what-you-can model ensures everyone can participate.

Want to donate? Drop off your clean, working items on Friday, August 23rd from 4-8pm or Saturday morning from 8-9am. Please label items with a suggested price.

This Saturday! We’ll have market again 🥰

✨Community Day on the farm! ✨ That means :

- live music from the 🪕
- fresh & local produce market 🥕
- native plants for sale and propagation 🌻
- volunteering with friends (old and new!) 🧤
- free coffee and mimosas ☕️🥂

Music runs 10am-noon and everything else lasts until 3pm. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Eeeee it’s that time again! Music and a full market and coffee and friends!

Come by this Saturday to see the lush, flower-filled farm. We’ll have a market (with peaches, plums, veggies, herbs, flowers, and jams), we’ll have music from the beloved , and we’ll have as well as onsite early in the morning for some gentle volunteering. (They may still have open slots for a double farm service day - go check it out!)

Market runs 10am-3pm, and music begins at 10am. Feel free to bring your own instrument to join in around 11am this time!

🍉 - new guest vendor selling starts and ceramics to raise money for local causes - 🍅 seedlings for 🍉🖤❤️💚🤍

🍓- local strawberries & blueberries at market

🫐 - mulberry harvest is underway - come volunteer and go home with some!

Pop up at tomorrow - happy Earth Day 🥰🪱🍃

Starting at 10:30, we’ll bring some potted plants (lots of native species), some flowers, and info about the farm. Come say hello and share a coffee! Taproom is one of our favorites spots in Kirkwood - constantly keeping the various farmers at Unearthing fueled for the work day ☕️

RAIN OR SHINE, Y’ALL.

We know, it’s a few weeks later than originally intended, but that just means the farm will be that much warmer and greener to welcome you all 🥰

Come by on April 6th, market hours 10am-3pm, for our three year anniversary shindig. We’ll have live music from the plus volunteer activities, coffee, mimosas, beer and seltzers, baked goods (plant based!), *maybe* boiled peanuts, and definitely fresh produce and flowers. The incredible nursery will be onsite as usual, and the farm hosts more and more flowers for you to take home with you. Come through!

🌸 Springtime… and updates ➡️

- Three Year Anniversary shindig is **April 6th** 10am-3pm here at the farm, with live music from , baked goods, volunteer activities for the whole family, drinks and coffee, and general merriment and thanks ♥️

- Market tomorrow will have ✨vegan banana bread loaves✨ from one of our favorite bakers, Jahrea 🥐

- We have lots to plant on the farm, so volunteers are always welcome around 10am 🥰🌻

ALSO - we have a paid internship opportunity for high schoolers starting March **and we still have a few spots left**

The deadline has been extended to Feb 29th, and the app and interview process is pretty simple. We’re looking for folks interested in the ins and outs of urban farming, growing native species, working a greenhouse nursery, and running a farmers market. And it’s paid?!

Please pass this along to any Dekalb County high school student you know who might be interested. And because we need to fill the cohort in order to be able to run the internship, we can be flexible with folks - send this flyer to them, or DM us, or email us for more info. Hello Farm Family!

As we reflect on the growth, abundance, and gatherings of this year, we want to thank everyone who has donated to support Unearthing. Your continued support is indispensable and has made this community greenspace and hyperlocal farm possible: paying the rent, feeding the animals, and making space for our farmers and stewards to grow. Thank you so much for supporting access to healthy food and ecosystems for all people!

Together this year we:
* Introduced 21 farm stewards who managed invasive species, introduced native plants furthering habitat restoration, and managed their plots to grow medicine gardens, food crops, flowers, and herbs.
* Volunteered over 430 hours to communally manage weeds, tend to crops, care for our resident farm animals, and be in community with each other and all the vibrant beings who call our little greenspace home.
* Hosted 30 community days
* Offered 50 markets
* Held 7 events and hosted 6 co-organized events
* AND SAVED BETTY!

While we prepare for the next year, we are asking if you can contribute an end-of-year tax-deductible donation to keep Unearthing thriving in 2024. No amount is too small, whether you can give a one-time donation, or commit to increasing your recurring donation in the new year, we are incredibly grateful for the community support that keeps Unearthing alive!

First weekend of November, we’re pulling out the stringlights and mimosas again… free coffee, music, and community for any and all.

Saturday, Nov 4th we’ll have the out to play folk tunes for the farm - music starts at 10am and goes to moon. Bring instruments and join if you like!

We’ll have hot coffee, tea, OJ, and mimosas at the free table, plus volunteer opportunities, market until 3pm, and maybe even boiled peanuts?! Come on through! As long as the weather holds, we’ll even build a campfire 🍁🍂

Kiddos and fur friends (leashed) are super welcome!

Folk music Saturdays are here again - this upcoming weekend we’ll have the here to serenade us with old time music from 10am-noon. Plus coffee, tea, OJ, and mimosas… come on through!

We’ll have an autumnal farmers market set up (NOTAFLOF), volunteer opportunities, and mostly just good, easy, no expectation vibes. Saturdays are becoming more and more like relaxed potluck-ish hangs, and you’re all invited 🥰

TAG YOUR TALENTED FRIEND! This Friday, bring your talents to share - baked goods, art, music, crafts, poems, pups with tricks, your hand painted DND creations, a PPT from work. This is an inclusive and no shame space to celebrate your talents big and small. 6:30-8 at the farm. Bring a chair, drinks, and your hype energy. Next talent share, Friday Sept 8th! 🙌⭐️🤘🌻

This is a very low-stakes, no expectations, participate in any manner you’d like to opportunity to hang with each other. String lights, snacks, maybe a campfire - all of you and all of your talents are welcome.

Info : Your talent could be baking, reciting a poem you wrote, encouraging others, identifying bugs, saying the alphabet backwards, telling jokes, or simply being an awesome audience member. We’ll have a mic and a table and chairs, and the rest is up to you. Come cheer each other on and enjoy an evening on the farm as we prepare for autumn 🍃🍂🍁

🍑 🌻 This weekend…

🙌 Lots of veggies, new preserved goods, teas, and lots to do 🧑🏻‍🌾

SUNDAY we’ll be at the 1-4:30pm at the Lang Carson Rec Center! We’ll have produce, flowers, pickles, and herbal teas blended for respiratory health 🌿 This is the first of a new season, and there will be lots of other vendors 🥰🌻

Our farm is a sliding scale farm, with no one turned away for lack of funds. We have accessible parking, restrooms, shade, and seating areas. For mobility / accessibility questions, reach out!

Music this Saturday! Bring your family and come on through to enjoy the shady morning farm 🌻🌸🐓

Folk music from the wonderful from 10am-12, and then an open jam for any and all from noon onward. Bring an instrument, or just yourself, and enjoy some free coffee and tunes. We’ll have chairs and tables in the shade to keep you comfy.

As always, we’ll have lots of opportunity to volunteer for those eager to get into the fields, though there’s never any obligation to labor with us - all engagement with the farm is equally valued. This week, we’ll be tackling some invasives and cleaning public walkways.

And of course, lots of produce, baked goods, and more pickles and marinated tomatoes on the way. Extra produce help from our friends at and ♥️

Honor Juneteenth this week with our friend and partner as she takes over Instagram account for a digital Juneteenth awareness campaign to preserve the cultural significance of Juneteenth and highlight the intersection of food justice and social justice. Follow and for an immersive experience, filled with inspiring stories, reclaimed history, and community-driven actions we can take to keep fighting for justice and equity in agriculture, supporting Black farmers in overcoming systemic racism. Let's honor the journey toward freedom and work together for a future of true equality.

Chelsea from will be joining market to talk about herbalism, and she’ll be bringing lots of wares!

It’s also Community Day again, which means free (terrible) coffee and tea and low- and high-impact task options for anyone who wants to labor with us! No work required - we appreciate your company!

Rumors that the might send some musicians to play a little music - no promises, but let’s cross our fingers! We love them (check them out!).

And LOTS of produce at market this week. No one turned away for lack of funds. Help me move these greens!

They’ll be slinging strawberries, peaches, mushrooms, bok choy, mustard greens, snap peas, garlic, spring onions, flowers, and more. Come meet these lovely folks and enjoy the farm! 🍓

…and if it rains, we’ll have the fridge stocked and someone on-site to help navigate. And remember there will be a sweet little maker’s market on Sunday if you miss us Saturday! 🌧
