Our high school interns are harvesting their hard work THIS Saturday, Nov 2nd, for the market. !!! Y’all, they’ve done so good!! 😭😭

In collaboration with , we’ve hosted *three* high school internships now - and what incredible cohorts we’ve had!

We cover topics like
- organic, regenerative farming methods
- ecological restoration
- the nuances and politics of native, invasive, and foreign species
- cultural foodways and how history has shaped and altered these
- seed saving and greenhouse 101
- foraging & outdoor, observational art practices
- natural dyes and textiles
- …and more!

Many of our farm stewards and our land-working community have joined us to guest lecture and lead activities.

And biggest thanks to the students themselves, who have brought so much to the farm, from enthusiasm and new ideas, to some of the best questions about land stewardship we’ve ever fielded.

Whew. So thankful!

So come out on Saturday and meet a few of the students. They’ll still be in class / at work for part of market, but you’ll see all their hard work and get to contribute. 🥰

Proceeds from these greens will go back to the farm and toward ingredients for a farm picnic day at the end of their term, covering any ingredients that we don’t grow or forage ourselves 🌿

☀️We love engaging local students and look what they can do! Students from Emory’s Physical Therapy and Mercer’s School of Theology program each had days battling the invasive species on the farm. This is such a helpful task as we remove these aggressive plants to make space for our native flora and flauna to flourish.

Let us know if you want to connect for a volunteer day via our email: [email protected].

Check out our fall interns with the Feed Dekalb Fall Internship. These 10-12 grade students are learning about urban farming over the next several weeks with our good partner, Mariana of Anita's Landworks. We love investing in the next generation of urban farmers!

Small updates!

You may have noticed our fridge a little empty (or shut!) and our market hours changing - worry not!

The nonprofit leg of this farm is working hard to figure out ways to keep these projects going, and we’ll keep you all posted on when to stop by and how to help 😌

For now, here’s a calendar to help orient folks :

- Sat 9.28 : Kid’s Market, 10am-3pm
- Sat 10.5 : Full Farmers Market, 10am-3pm
- Thurs 10.10 : Panel on Environmental Justice & Climate Anxiety, 6pm ✨free to all✨
- Sat 10.12 : no market

👋 As always, feel free to stop by whenever the spirit moves you - the farm is public during daylight hours, and the faces you’ve come to know around the farm are all still here 🧑‍🌾

Looking forward to seeing you all as the weather continues to turn 🌻

Wowwwww before and after shots of the high tunnel thanks to some of the *best* volunteers from Emory 😭😭😭

🌿 These rows will be used for our high school internship - our fall cohort of students will be here again this Saturday morning for week 3 of 10 - and we invite any and all volunteers to come help us finish prepping the north field for fall and winter. 9am-noon and we’ll have the tea kettle ready :)

🧤 We want to help show the students that many hands make light work, that community is another tool they can rely on, and that they can cultivate.

Goodness, we so appreciate our community 😌 thank you!!
