Why choose Ark over other animal transporters?

Some transporters stack transports. This means that they have multiple animals in one vehicle. This can be very bad for many reasons.

1. Disease, which is our biggest concern. Say they have an elderly dog in their vehicle that has been exposed to parvo. They just picked up your puppy and put it in the crate right next to the other, exposing the puppy who isn't vaccinated yet.

2. Time. When you get a transport from someone who is stacking, they are running a route that could take days to complete when we can complete ours in one, possibly two.

3. Focus and attention. With transporting several animals at once, they have to divide up their focus and attention among the animals instead of giving 100% to yours.

Yes, they may provide a cheaper quote but is it truly worth it? There are many horror stories out there of animals never reaching their destination because of neglect in these situations.

Even if you do go with another service other than ours, please pick a solo/VIP animal transport service. Do that for your animal because your pet is part of your family.

We get asked frequently about our quotes.

After various trials and errors on our quotes and trying to figure out what works the most, we have adjusted our prices to what is appropriate.

We recently got a request for transport but were told they do not want to spend anything more than $500, going from Easley, SC to Minneapolis, MN. They requested a driver as well.

Unfortunately, that isn't possible since we will lose money if we decide to take this drive, so I'd like to show you why. This is strictly for transparency reasons.

It is 1124 miles from Easley, SC to Minneapolis, MN. Using gas buddy, it will be around $200 in gas to get there.

That leaves $300 left to wiggle with.

Round trip, it's about 34 hours of driving. Since we only stay on the road for 10-12 hours, this will be three days at a hotel. Yes, some hotels are cheaper than others but we always view it as $100 a night in a hotel. You have to factor in that some hotels have pet fees associated with the rooms. That is the last of the $300. We are now operating with $0 left.

From there, we have to calculate food for the driver. We usually pack our own meals but sometimes the driver has to pick something up. We typically say about $100 every 3 days, but let's say $50 this time.

-$50 is where we are at now. The driver is walking away with nothing except more mileage in their car and less money going out than there was going in.

For this transport, it is AT MINIMUM $950 if the driver agrees to go that low.

So please understand that when we provide you a ground transport quote, we are not overcharging you.

We are a solo animal transport for a reason. We want to get your furbaby home to you safely and efficiently, but we are also running a business.
