Every Wednesday, we release a critical list of at-risk dogs who must find homes by Tuesday night. These dogs have been selected because they struggle the most in the shelter environment. This week, we urgently need your help with eleven dogs that require immediate adoption or fostering by Tuesday, August 27th.

The shelter is at maximum capacity and these dogs are showing significant signs of stress in the shelter environment. Without placement by the deadline, these dogs are at high risk of euthanasia due to the critical need to maintain humane shelter conditions.

How You Can Help:
Adopt: Give one of these dogs a permanent, loving home by visiting 1251 Fulton Industrial Blvd, Atlanta, GA as soon as possible.

Foster: Provide a temporary home to relieve their stress and improve their chances of finding a permanent placement. This could range from a few weeks to a few months; more information will be provided at the shelter.

Spread the Word: Share this urgent appeal with friends, family, and social media to reach as many potential adopters or fosters as possible.

We cannot achieve this without your support. The dogs depend on the community to step forward in times of crisis. Your help can make the difference between life and death for these vulnerable animals. Thank you for your compassion and urgent attention to this matter.

Ranger Lemi, reporting for duty!
Lemi was officially sworn in as a BARK Ranger at Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area- and now that she’s certified, she’s hopeful there might be a job opening for a conservationist or environmentalist in her forever home.
Of course, Lemi takes her Ranger role very seriously and proudly follows the four BARK Rules:

(B)ag your p**p
(A)lways wear a leash
(R)espect the Rock
(K)now where to go

Additionally, Lemi strives to be a well-rounded Ranger and has developed quite a few other important skills:

(R)elaxed, yet outgoing one (1) year old
(A)wesome medium size at forty five (45) lbs
(N)ot just a cute face- knows ten (10)+ commands
(G)ood with kiddos and new people she meets
(E)xcited to play tug o’ war or find a chew toy
(R)eady to be your little shadow or curl up on your lap

(L)ays down and settles in her crate overnight
(E)xcellent potty track record with no accidents
(M)anages car rides, baths, and storms well
(I)ncredibly loyal and ready for her forever family!

Ranger Lemi understands the importance of her relationship with wildlife as well. She lived successfully with large dogs in a previous foster home; however, Lemi is currently learning how to politely channel her enthusiasm and requires a slow intro with other pups. Additionally, Lemi prefers to admire cats and small animals from a distance; she requests that she not have to share the space with them in a future home.

Lemi (shelter name LuLuLemon, 54597217) is heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines and preventatives. She is adoptable through Fulton County Animal Services in Atlanta, GA. If you’re interested in meeting her, go to https://adopt.adopets.com/pet/523e756c-9081-49c2-ac2d-bec0d1a52172?tracking=1bc0a684-23fd-43af-8c9f-06479666b01a and click on the “I’m Interested” button. This is NOT a commitment to adopt; instead, this is an opportunity to connect with us to learn more about this absolutely incredible Ranger Pup.

A very big thank you to Rangers Shaundon and Robby for swearing Lemi in and to everyone at Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area for preserving and protecting this incredible ecosystem!

Every Wednesday, we release a critical list of at-risk dogs at Fulton County Animal Services (FCAS) who must find homes by the following Tuesday night. These dogs have been selected because they are struggling the most in the shelter environment. This week, we urgently need your help with eight dogs that require immediate adoption or fostering by Tuesday, July 30th.

If these dogs do not find placement by the deadline, they will likely face euthanasia due to the shelter's severe overcrowding. This is a heartbreaking situation, but the dogs are showing significant signs of distress, making it imperative to act swiftly. Our team faces the difficult task of balancing the health and well-being of these dogs against the urgent need to maintain humane shelter capacity. We cannot achieve this without your support.

Your involvement is not only important—it is vital. By spreading the word, you can help us reach those who may offer these dogs the loving homes they desperately need. Together, we can change their fates and place them in homes where they truly belong.

Please be aware that due to the overwhelming number of animals in need, we are unable to monitor this post closely. If you are ready to help, we urge you to visit the shelter directly.

Fulton County Animal Services is currently facing severe overcrowding, and we urgently need the community's assistance. Every Wednesday, we will share a list of at-risk dogs that need to find homes by the following Tuesday night. These dogs are struggling the most in our shelter environment.

As the summer progresses, temperatures are reaching the mid to upper 90s, making it incredibly dangerous to leave your dog in a car with the windows up. Even on a seemingly mild day, the temperature inside a parked car can quickly soar to deadly levels. Always ensure your dog’s safety and comfort by never leaving them unattended in a vehicle, even for a short period.

Tips for Keeping Your Dog Safe in Hot Cars:

Never leave your pet inside a parked car.
Use a well-ventilated pet carrier.
Add cooling pads to your car seat or pet’s crate.
Bring plenty of cool, refreshing water for constant rehydration.
Invest in waterproof seat covers and rubberized floor liners.
Bring cool, refreshing, icy treats.

Starting today, we are making changes to help more dogs find homes. As you know, Fulton County Animal Services has been overcrowded and exceeding capacity and we need our community’s help. Every Wednesday, we will share an urgent list of at-risk dogs that have a deadline to find a home by the following Tuesday night. The dogs that have been selected are the ones struggling the most in the shelter. This week, at FCAS, we have 9 dogs that need your help to share their stories. The dogs featured in this post are in urgent need of an adopter or foster by Tuesday, 7/16. If they haven't found placement by the deadline, they most likely will be euthanized as we are critically out of space and they are displaying signs of immense stress in the shelter. These decisions are never easy and our teams bear the heavy weight of evaluating the health and well being of a dog who is struggling in the shelter and the need to have humane housing (which means less dogs than we are currently trying to support).

We aim to reach and maintain a humane capacity in our shelters with your help advocating for these dogs. Your role is not just important, it's crucial. By sharing our message, you can help us reach others who can help bring a dog home. Together, we can make a difference and get these dogs into homes where they belong. Please note: due to the high volume of animals in need, we aren’t able to closely monitor this post. If you are looking to help, please come directly to the shelter.
