Meet Cloudy, a sweet and goofy 3-year-old boy weighing 48 pounds! This independent charmer has been patiently waiting for his forever home since September 6th, after being found as a stray. Cloudy has medium-to-high energy, alternating between rest and playful bursts, and loves engaging in games like tug and fetch. He’s got an adorable habit of carrying toys in his mouth and has the happiest tail paired with the most expressive ears.

Cloudy knows "sit" and is working on improving his leash manners. When he’s excited, he can get a little jumpy, but with calm guidance, he quickly settles down. He’s dog-friendly and enjoys playing with other pups, sometimes with a bit of rough-and-tumble energy, making him a great match for a playful canine companion.

This sweet boy adores snacks and will happily sit with you, leaning in for moments of quiet connection. In the play yard, he likes to explore, walk the perimeter, and occasionally comes over for treats and affection. Whether he’s chasing toys, showing off his goofy side, or leaning in for pets, Cloudy is ready to find his new home.

Today is our final plea for Goofster. Goofster needs placement by 6pm today. He has not been doing good in the shelter and has been experiencing kennel stress. Please come to the shelter if you want to meet him. He can be fostered or adopted.

URGENT PLEA.

We have two dogs that still need placement by 7pm tonight. Kendrick and Goofster are struggling with the shelter environment and need an out. Want to foster or adopt? Please come into the shelter before 7pm.

Kendrick is about 3 years old and 46 pounds. Kendrick knows some basic commands. loves treats, and loves new adventures. We have not done an official dog test but he has not shown any reactivity to other dogs.

Goofster is about 2 years old and 54 pounds. Goofster is great on his leash and loves going for walks. Goofster can be a little independent at first but with time he warms up. He is a sweet, laid-back boy. He has been curious about other dogs and would enjoy getting to know them at his own pace.

Please do not email or call, you must come into the shelter to save one of these pups. Deadline is tonight by 7pm.

While we’re still under our target population of 375 dogs, our numbers are increasing daily. As an open-intake shelter, we intake an average of 20–30 dogs every day. Through owner surrenders, strays, and sick pets owners can no longer care for, the number of dogs entering the shelter changes daily.

Thanks to our amazing community of adopters, fosters, volunteers, and supporters, we’re able to give these animals the love, care, and second chances they deserve. Together, we continue making a difference—one paw at a time.

Meet Maylene, a sweet and playful 2+ year-old ready to find her forever home! This affectionate girl is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows how to "sit," with "stay" and "come" currently in progress. She’s leash-friendly, though she may need the occasional correction for pulling, and she’s shown no lunging behavior. Maylene is medium-energy, loving a good game of fetch or playtime with her favorite toys, followed by head and b***y scratches. She adores cuddling and being near her people, making her a perfect companion for those who enjoy both activity and snuggles.

Maylene is currently the only dog in her foster home but has had a few dog interactions while in the shelter. Maylene has met both larger and smaller dogs, while she enjoyed her time more with the smaller dog, she could do well with slow introductions. She has done great with adults (both men and women) but her behavior around children is unknown. She’s still working on desensitization and socialization, especially with her excitement around other dogs, but she’s making excellent progress! Maylene would thrive with continued training and guidance.

This easygoing pup loves car rides, tolerates baths, and can’t resist the occasional hot dog or McDonald’s hamburger. With her shiny coat and cheerful personality, Maylene is as beautiful as she is lovable. If you’re looking for a loyal, trainable, and affectionate companion, Maylene is ready to fill your home with joy!

Leigh is soaking up the sunshine in her foster home and loving every moment of it. She's the kind of dog who loves to lie on her back with a ball in her mouth, enjoying the warmth of the day. Warmer spring days are perfect for her favorite activity—playing tug-of-war with her foster siblings! She’s a true tug enthusiast, always ready for a friendly battle. After some fun outside, Leigh loves settling down with a Kong stuffed with treats and then taking a well-deserved nap.

She's a medium-energy girl who enjoys a healthy balance of play and rest. Leigh would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can relax and feel secure. My friends tease me about my serious resting grumpy face (RGF), but don’t let it fool you—I’m not grumpy at all! I’m just focused on finding my pawfect match. With high standards like mine, I’m looking for the ultimate forever home to call my own.

Let’s start with the basics: I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and an all-around good pup. But now, let me share what makes me me.

My perfect day? It starts with a game of fetch—Chuckit balls are my absolute favorite! I could chase them for hours. I’ll happily show off my tricks like ‘sit’ and ‘shake’ in exchange for treats. Between games and snack breaks, I enjoy cuddling up with my humans and chewing on a good bone.

My ideal evening? Picture this: me chewing on a bone while you cook dinner, followed by a cozy night on the sofa snuggling together. Sounds pretty great, right?

After 165 days of waiting, Mollie has finally found her forever home!

Mollie, our longest resident since 8/6/24, officially left the shelter on 1/17/25 for a warm and cozy place to call her own. Her new family—a wonderful mom and son—fell in love with her calm energy and stunning looks. They initially came to save one of our urgent dogs but discovered Mollie, who had been patiently waiting for her moment.

Thank you to this amazing family for giving Mollie the happy ending she deserves. She’s not just a staff favorite; she’s a reminder that every dog’s time will come.

Our current dog population is well below our target goal of 375. Having less dogs in care is making a world of difference for our pups! With fewer dogs, we can provide larger kennel spaces for some, more focused care, and extra walks, snuggles, and enrichment. This wouldn’t be possible without our incredible fosters who stepped up during the winter weather and who continue to help now.

Managed by LifeLine Animal Project, Fulton County Animal Services provides a humane environment for Fulton County’s homeless pets while enforcing the animal control laws of Fulton County, GA. We also provide other services such as veterinary care for our animals including spay/neuters, pet adoptions, pet reclaims, volunteer programs, foster home programs, rescue group coordination and other life-saving programs.

LifeLine Animal Project helps prevent unwanted pet litters through low-cost spay/neuter, helps make pet care affordable through low-cost and free vaccine clinics, saves the lives of special needs shelter animals through our rehabilitation facility, and saves feral cats through our trap-neuter-return program.
