Hi I'm Alec, a lively 43-pound bundle of joy who thrives on fun! At 4 years old, I have a ton of energy, and playing is my absolute favorite activity. Whether it's sprinting through an open field, playing fetch in the backyard or enjoying a long hike, I'm always ready for adventure! I have been on the search for my new home and while I've had some experience outside of the shelter, I have recently found myself back. Although I am cute and cuddly there are a few things I am still working on.

When my family is gone for the day, I can get anxious in my crate. It can feel a bit scary, and sometimes I try to escape or whine until someone lets me out. I've heard the humans refer to this as separation anxiety. I guess I just enjoy being around my family more than I like being alone. The good thing is I am not destructive and I am potty trained, so I'd be thrilled to be left out. Just to note- I love checking out what's on the counter, even though sometimes I shouldn't, I just love exploring. So make sure to hide the snacks! I enjoy kids but usually older kids get along better with my play style. I can get a little jumpy and sometimes mouthy when I play but it's all in good fun. However with some training, and lots of treats, I can learn to tone that down a bit.

As I bond with my family, I can be a little protective, especially around men, which sometimes leads me to feel the need to keep my mom safe. While I think I'm being helpful, I know this can be a bit much for people. Despite my fears and protective instincts, I'm a good boy overall. People describe me as friendly, playful, affectionate, loving, goofy and occasionally a bit clingy. I would thrive with a family who is willing to help me put my best paw forward with some training and love.

If you are interested in giving me the home of my dreams, please come visit me at Fulton County Animal Services.

Meet Nate the Great! ✨

Have you ever met a dapper gentleman with a smile so grand it lights up the room? That’s, Nathan or as his friends like to call him, Nate the Great! 🐾

He's 5 years old, 50lbs of pure love, and ready to find a home to call my own. Sure, he get a little excited when I see a leash (it means adventure time), but he is as sweet as they come.

✅ Crate-trained & potty-trained
✅ Knows commands like sit, down, and paw (treats make me an even better student!)
✅ Social with other dogs and great with older kids
✅ Certified snuggle champion 🏆

He's the perfect mix of playful and loving. He’ll chase toys, fetch sticks, and then curl up on your lap (yes, a big lap dog 😅). If you’re looking for a best friend who’ll bring endless joy and greatness to your life, He's your guy. (Currently in foster)

Derek Shepherd was found dumped at a vet clinic with a severe gunshot wound, left to fend for himself in a world that had shown him little kindness. After being rescued, he was brought to our shelter, where we quickly realized that to save his life, we needed to amputate his injured leg.

Despite the experience he endured, Derek's spirit remained unbroken. His gentle demeanor and unwavering trust touched the hearts of everyone who met him.. We're thrilled to share that the very security guard who brought Derek to our facility fell in love with him and decided to adopt him, giving him a loving home where he would never feel abandoned again.

Derek’s story is just one of many that illustrate the importance of your generous contributions. With your help, we can continue to provide medical care, shelter, and love to animals in need.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to join us in making a difference. Your donation will help rescue more animals like Derek, giving them the chance for a new life and the opportunity to find their new families.

Help us get to 100k!

CYBER MONDAY FOSTER FEATURE! Meet Onya! This super sweet two year old gal is as sweet as they come. She’s playful, snuggly pup who can’t wait to find her home. She walks well on a leash and is crate trained too. Her days in her foster homes start with a morning walk followed by a drive to an outdoor study spot or coffee shop (she LOVES car rides!). If you have a free afternoon, she’d love to snuggle up by your side. Onya is a loyal gal who loves to be with you during the day, but also does well on her own and happily plops into her crate at bed time. When her foster has visitors, she trots over right away to say hello. She’s done well with kids, too!
