Go Team Therapy Dogs members are the Best of the Best. Today we had 5 handler-dog teams volunteering at Lake Belton High School. Four of the handlers were on their very FIRST visit as Go Team members with local coordinator Barbara. About an hour into visiting with kids during lunch the announcement was made they were on lockdown. Kids went running and three of the handlers with dogs were sent to a large closet with staff and students, where we stood quietly in the dark for about 15 minutes until they gave the all clear. Two of our teams were upstairs and were sent to a back room in the office. As they regrouped and took a deep breath, the coordinator assured them that anyone who needed to go home was welcome to go. All of the new teams said “absolutely not the kids and staff need us even more now!!” They were informed later that there was a system failure and there was no threat to the school. Our teams spent another two hours hanging out with the kids and staff!! Thank you to Barbara, Dorinda, Dani, Yecenia and Josh for your calm response to a stressful situation! We are proud to say we are GO TEAM!

Once signed up you will also be added to the "time tracker" private page. We are hoping to get AT LEAST 500 sign ups. ALL profits will go to The GO TEAM and help us to grow even more across the country. Please share with all your friends or give as a wonderful Holiday present! Thank you to all our GO TEAM Volunteers over the years, Board of Directors and supporters for helping make “David’s Dream” a reality. Without you this would never have been possible. On June 26, 2012 the Waldo Canyon fire had jumped the hill and started to engulf the homes in fire. Residents were evacuated to nearby hotels. I received a call if I could bring my therapy dogs to the hotels to help calm the customers. I didn’t want to go. It was David’s birthday and he was in Heaven and not here with us. I felt a tap on my shoulder and a whisper. “Mom you are needed. Go”. No one was near me. It was David saying go help. David was known for helping friends and strangers. We went to the hotel, then the camp the firefighters were staying in. One firefighter asked me the name of our team. I thought and said we are the GO TEAM. The Best of the Best. This is how the Go Team Therapy Dogs started. In memory of my son David. ♥️ Some people do not believe people talk to you after they leave us. That day made me into a believer that they do.

Did you know our Go Team Therapy Dogs logo patch (TM) was designed by a 13 year old in 2013. Over a hundred entries, but this came with the meaning of each color.
Red: Honors Our First Responders (Firefighters, Hot Shots, EMS……)
Black: Honors Our Fallen Military
Blue: Honors Our Law Enforcement Officers
White: Honors The Special People in Our Lives Who Are No Longer With Us
