And sun means burns! Yes, your pup can get sunburnt and it is just as uncomfortable for them as it is for you! Here's a few tips to consider: 👇 🐶 Invest in sunscreen for your dog! Yes, they make them and you can purchase at chewy.com.⁠⁠ 🐶 Pick up a sun shirt or suit for your best pal! They also make hats and goggles too!⁠⁠ 🐶 Avoid taking or keeping your pup outside during the hottest part of the day.⁠⁠ 🐶 Find a shaded spot for walks. With the heat comes fleas! Here are a few signs to look for: 👉 Flea eggs (small, white grains). 👉 Itchy and irritated skin. 👉 Consistent scratching. 👉 Feeling small bumps on your pet’s skin. 👉 Excessive chewing and licking. 👉 Hair loss and scabs. 👉 Pale lips and gums. #commoncompanionvet

Dr. Cox is an alumnus of The University of Georgia! Go Dawgs! ❤️🖤 She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. Dr. Cox’s interests include internal medicine cases and improving the human-animal bond. Outside of work Dr. Cox spends time with her dogs, a Boxer (Bishop), and a German Wirehair Pointer (Dixon), watching college football, outdoor actives and spending time with her two sisters and parents. After graduation, she spent time volunteering and working in a few veterinary clinics and animal shelters and realized her passion for veterinary medicine. She received her veterinary degree from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, Scotland. Outside of work Dr. Morgan enjoys running, yoga, riding horses, spending time with her friends, family, her dogs, Gillie and Darby, cat, Buccleuch, and her pony, Mattie. #commoncompanion
