Sometimes I wonder why I do what I do.
Then I remember how necessary grooming is! and because so many groomers work on commission, dogs with behavioral problems like this end up getting turned away, neglected, or pushed into potentially risky sedatives. This kind of work takes patience to get them comfortable with the process, and make sure everyone stays safe and so many groomers and vets are too over booked to take this time but often because of these reasons. THESE ARE THE DOGS THAT NEED IT THE MOST!
We just shaved him down to something more manageable as we work him up to being more accepting of the handling necessary for grooming and medical needs. Cooperative care training/desensitization is SO important. If you find yourself at wits end with a difficult puppy let us know. I have a lot of experience in cooperative care training in the grooming and veterinary fields.
