Fulton Animal Services is currently caring for 409 dogs, with a target of 390 by next Tuesday, while DeKalb Animal Services has 598 dogs, aiming to reduce that number to 590.

This sweet girl has been thriving in her foster home, making new friends, enjoying snuggles by the fireplace, and melting hearts with her gentle, affectionate nature. At 2 years old, she’s outgrown her puppy phase but still loves playtime with her foster siblings, curling up for movie nights, and going on peaceful walks.

Thanks to the incredible support from our community, we’re thrilled to share that we have met our goal for this week! Currently, Fulton’s population is at 398 dogs, with a target of 395 by next Tuesday, and DeKalb stands at 600 dogs, aiming for 595. Every adoption, foster, and shared post helps bring us closer to these targets, even as our numbers fluctuate with new arrivals.

As open-intake shelters, DeKalb and Fulton County Animal Services welcome every animal in need, but this often means our kennels stay full. With your help, we’re creating real change by maintaining manageable capacity levels, updating our at-risk pages, and working toward sustainable solutions each week.
