We've always loved celebrating special days, and today is an extra special one for us!

It marks 11 years since we launched our in-custody program at Fulton County Jail. That's 11 years of transforming lives, rescuing dogs, learning, growing, and making countless memories. It's been 11 years filled with smiles, hugs, tears, and an enduring desire to make an even bigger impact.

Through all these years, you've been there for us. Our community has grown to over 20,000 strong, yet your spirit of support remains unchanged. You've cheered us on, sent items from our wish list, offered virtual hugs, and shared in our tears. Your presence has always been felt, and it means the world to us.

Today, on our 11th anniversary, we're asking for your support. A donation of just $11 – one dollar for each year of this life-changing work – can make a significant difference. Rescue doesn’t mean damaged—it means these dogs have been let down by humans at some point. But despite that, they become amazing friends, teachers, and helpers. They offer incredible emotional support for those dealing with depression, PTSD, anxiety, and more. Plus, caring for rescue dogs teaches kids about compassion and responsibility. These wonderful dogs truly make us better people.

What's Rescue and Rehabilitation? When I tell folks this is my passion, they aren't really sure. I'm a dog trainer, but you've rarely seen tricks posted, dogs aren't often jumping through hoops. My work is often slow. It's often talking to clients as they cry. It's being there for the muzzled dog so he doesn't cross the rainbow bridge alone. It's preventing bites or teaching others how to. It's avoiding eye contact with scared dogs and tossing treats. It's slow. And not showy. And it's fill your heart with love and gratitude rewarding when the dog that couldn't look at you a month ago is nudging you for treats and doing happy dances. Gooood boy Casey. Look at this sweet faced 1 year old Shepherd Hound Boxer mix with her big foster brother. Neither can believe she still hasn't found her furever! Sadie is up to date on Vaccinations and Spayed. She knows her basic cues along with some fun stuff like dancing and retrieving toys. She's great with other dogs and good with mellow cats that don't dart about too much! Sadie has separation anxiety, but with the right medicine and routine she has shown how well she can thrive. She'll do best in an active house with a dog buddy and humans that can bring her to work, stay home, or go to doggy daycare so she has lots to occupy her. She's a snugly and sweet 40lbs and would really love to be home by Halloween to trick or treat with a family! Her adoption includes 3 private training lessons either via Zoom or in person. I'd like to take a moment to celebrate and appreciate one year with my Jago Mush Linden, my Nubby, my Kidney bean, my protector and comedian. You make me laugh every single day. You love your vegetables almost as much as your ball. You love Sadie and have taken her under your paw while she's searched for furever. You're a reactive spazz that is skeptical of everyone but when you open to trust, you are everyone's best bud. You'll play ball until your paws fall off, you snore like a freight train and fart without shame. You wiggle into a kidney bean when I come home and come to drool food on me when you're eating in appreciation. Every morning, you want to come back to bed for our daily one on one morning snugs. I was unsure of you at first. But My Boy, I couldn't imagine my life without you now. Thank you for teaching me patience, how to laugh at myself when I want to cry, and that no matter how bad things get, there's always time for a game of catch. I love you Jagooo Thank you ABR for letting me keep this hooligan. Everyday is a comedy with my sweet handful of a mushy goofy boy. 💗💗

Two of the girls from the Fantastic Four got to reunite to party today! Serafina is doing great, and Sadie Baby is still looking for furever! She is 7months, about 35lbs, never met a person or dog she didn't love and is a total goof! Sadie still combats separation anxiety and confinement stress so finding her a family willing to be patient, ideally with a doggy friend and, fenced yard is the ticket. Until she finds her perfect match, she'll be content with us at the meatball motel here with Peaceful Pets! We adore her and know her perfect match will find her. TGIF!!

Working Together To Bring Peace of Mind to Atlanta’s Pets

As CPDT-KA Fear Free Trainer and Certified Pet Sitter my goals are simple.

I want to work with you, I want to work in tandem with rescues, and with the other like minded businesses in the area to help relieve our shelter systems and bring peace of mind to as many of Atlanta’s animals as possible. I have worked with animals for nearly two decades and I have seen the industry in Atlanta shift and turn. With more advocacy leaning towards giving dogs a second, or sometimes fifth chance, I knew I had found my calling.

I am not here to stomp out other reputable and relationship based fear free organizations, I am not here to shame people for using responsible breeders or battle with trainers that use aversion or balanced methods (although I will offer you a discount for choosing the peaceful and science based way), my goal is simple: Peace! Peace among companies, peace among rescues, peace of mind while you travel, and most of all, peace to our pets and the future pets. If you are interested in the mission, and want to be a part of it, please reach out!
