When we use popper boxes ours are specifically set up for certain reasons. The boxes we use have various angles to them. There are multiple odor ports. The angles do a few things they help with bringing the dog into the find and not backing up or turning around. They give a good forward leaning posture and forces the dog to drive in hard. We have fixed dogs in a day with a few sessions that have issues of locating a find and spinning around and looking at their handler or dogs that get easily distracted by other things happening in their environment.

Being able to verbally recall your dog back with obstacles. I recently saw a post in a canine group and I couldn’t believe all the handlers that were saying I would never recall my dog off of a bite. I would go remove them for whatever reason. Never say never. I recalled my dog multiple times off of bites for various reasons. I couldn’t believe what was wrong with having control of your dog. What is wrong with training that control. It makes you and your animal prepared and better trained.

Go train, train scenarios, train obstacles, make it something different even if simple, give the dog different views, sights and sounds, quit training for certifications, push each other, don’t always do success make it so the dog fails, make it so the handlers fails - that is where learning is the best, get in the suit, make each others dogs stronger, when you find a weakness take a step back then work through it until it is no longer there. Take pride in being elite. You depend on your partner and others depend on you.
