Everyone meet Grumpy Luke! He's a special boy but he and I are already starting to be friends 🩵

He has Spina bifida and his people were told they'd be lucky if he made it to 7. At almost 13 he's very wobbly but otherwise pretty darn healthy!

My dog Penny has been dealing with some reactions to medications she needs to take over the last month or so. It's causing some issues with other dogs. So I will not be boarding any dogs until at least after the holidays. I am hopeful we will have solved the medication puzzle by then and Penny will be back to her usual self.

I have a rule that I will only board one family of dogs at a time. Slightly expanded my definition of one family of dogs this week. Left to right: Star and Luna (my sister's), Tansy (my parents'), and Penny (mine). They all know each other and get along, but it will be an interesting couple of days!

Tek and I rescued a baby Eastern Painted Turtle today. He sniffed her curiously but was too polite to try and taste. I took her over to the pond in the park nearby.

It's one year today since I started hanging out with these two. We've come a long way from them knocking me into a poison ivy patch!

Had a scary incident today when I discovered two of my clients had gotten into some poison traps. A trip to the vet and they should be ok thank goodness! But just wanted to remind everyone about the poison control hotline for pets. Just in case. They do charge a fee, but they'll coordinate with your vet and make sure your pet gets the best possible care.
