***Unfortunately we have to cancel our pack walk but anyone can walk a total of 3.1 miles for December 31st and still get their AKC Turkey Trot medal***

Join us next Saturday, November 30th, in Merced for our AKC 5K Turkey Trot!

This 3.1 mile pack walk will be a leisurely walk, with training exercises thrown in. Everyone participating will be eligible to order their Turkey Trot 2024 medal from AKC as well.

We will be meeting at the Sunset Trail located at 4297 Freemark Ave, Merced, CA 95348 at 2pm. If you are worried about walking your dog you can show up a half hour early to try some of our favorite tools for walking, get a quick lesson, and use some loaner equipment.

New cutie alert. Nova is here for our board and train program. She was adopted by one of our local animal control officers after being found on the streets. We are helping her learn some foundational obedience so she can hopefully be utilized to help more stray dogs in our area.

Stussy, the bull mastiff, has been with us and is competing our 2 week board and train program. He spent the first week settling in, learning our routine, and being exposed to lots of new dogs. He is a young boy despite his size, with a big ol puppy brain. But we are finally getting some engagement and figuring out leash pressure.

Hazel, who is also here for training, came along to work on her settling and neutrality in exciting places. She was also a great demo dog for Stussy.

We do have one opening for another board and train dog, either our 2 or 4 week program. Message us for more details!

Sometimes, you just need a second to relax and roll in the grass.

Miyan is doing great getting used to the figure 8 lead and figuring out where it's the most rewarding to walk. We walked by the pack a few times just to really give her a good test.

Using a prong collar alone won't solve the problem of a dog pulling on the leash. While it may reduce pulling, it doesn't address the underlying issues, making walks less enjoyable. Using a prong collar in this way is only a bandaid, and your dog won't make real progress in training. Proper use of a prong collar, combined with rewarding engagement and correct positioning, will lead to a more relaxed walk for both you and your dog.

Moose is a silly boy 😂 while he is food motivated, he's also very ball motivated. So we've been incorporating small retrieves to reward small sit stays.

Howie is a big boy here to learn some manners in public. We focused on quick u-turns and eye contact in this session, something we can do if we encounter one of his triggers.

Kobe and Nova braved the wet outdoors to work on some e-collar conditioning and recall today.
