What the puppies been up to?

💙 The puppies have an expanded play area with lots of new toys!
❤️ Deworming #1 ✔️
🤍 More mush, less nursing. Puppies nurse 3 times a day and eat mush 2 times a day this week.
💙 Nails trimmed (again!)
❤️ They're catching on to potty training on their trays!
🤍 The puppies are more vocal and playful 💕
💙 Daily handling exercises continue!

❤️Remi and Sully are expecting their first litter of AKC English Cream Golden Retrievers on December 27th!♥️

Both have clear genetics and OFA hip/elbow screenings. The reservation list for this litter is already starting to fill up - contact us today if you want to reserve a Remi/Sully puppy!

🎉3 weeks old!🎉

So much is new with the puppies!

♥️ The puppies are done with ENS and ESI. Daily handling exercises have begun!
♥️They ate their first meal of mush today. They loved it 🥰
♥️The puppies moved into new whelping pens. They now have beds, toys and potty trays.
♥️Puppies are able to sleep through the night without mama feeding them. (And now I get to move back to my own bed, woohoo!)
❤️ They can now hear! Fun fact - dogs can hear 4 times better than humans 🤯
❤️The puppies have graduated to the stand-up milk bar (see photo if you're confused, lol!) 🐄

JoJo continues to raise the 3 puppies that weren't gaining enough weight the first few days. Mr. Red is in her care and is now the largest of all the golden retrievers! She's been a lifesaver 💕

We have 6 males available! If you are looking for specific traits in a puppy (therapy dog, hunting dog, high or low energy dog, etc.) now is the time to reserve a puppy! With 6 to choose from, you are sure to get a puppy that is the perfect fit for your family ☺️

2 weeks old!

What have the puppies been up to??

🍁ENS and ESI continue.
🍁Daily weigh-ins. All the puppies are gaining weight daily!
🍁Nail trim #1✔️ Nail trim #2✔️ (those nails grow fast - we're trying to keep the mamas' bellies from getting scratched up!)
🍁JoJo continues to help Willa. She is taking care of 3 puppies
🍁Eyes are open!

We have 1 girl and many boys available!

🎂 Happy birthday to Willa's litter!
9 boys (!!) and 3 girls born October 8th, 2024 🎂

Puppies are one week old today.

Most of our time has been spent trying to ensure all the puppies are getting enough at every feeding. We have a couple that are struggling...

We still have managed to start our ENS and ESI!!

Firsts for this breeder:

👉First time hand feeding puppies (2 puppies need to be fed by hand every two hours around the clock. 😴!)
👉First time having another mama take over the care of puppies (JoJo has 2 puppies that are 2 days older than Willa's - she is now caring for her 2 + 4 of Willa's pups)

I'm looking forward to updating everyone with good news about happy, chunky, healthy puppies over the next 7 weeks!

Today's good news is that one of the hand fed pups is doing great - nursing more than being fed by me.

💙 Please pray Mr. Gray continues to grow and get stronger. He's the smallest pup we've ever had 💙

Update: Piper has found a guardian family ❤️

Piper is 6 months old and will be a future Crow River Pup mama ❣️ (Providing she passes her health clearances that will take place after her 2nd birthday...)

Why should you consider becoming her guardian family??

🐾 You get the opportunity to have Piper as a family pet while she remains in our program. Puppy fee is waived!
🐾 Her family will be paid a stipend with each litter she has (4 litters max). This will help pay for her vet expenses and food while she is in our program.
🐾We pay for all health testing and pregnancy-related expenses
🐾We pay to have her spayed after her final litter and ownership will be signed over to her guardian family

Update: George has found a family!

We have *one* Bernese Mountain Dog puppy available!

George is our last available Bernese Mountain Dog puppy! He is A laid-back, happy puppy who enjoys exploring his surroundings, playing with toys and, of course, he LOVES people! He will love going on adventures by day and cuddling on the couch by night 💙 He will be ready to join his family on September 23rd.

What happened this week?

Next week we will be doing temperament testing, wellness exam at the vet and first round of vaccinations!

🤎🖤🤍We welcomed a litter of 6 Bernese Mountain Dogs on July 29th!🤍🖤🤎

Although this is a Golden Retriever page, I wanted to share because the Bernese Mountain Dog and Golden Retriever have many of the same character traits.

How are they similar, you ask??
⭐ Affectionate Nature
⭐ Unwavering loyalty
⭐ Extremely trainable
⭐ Good with kids

How are they different?
⭐ BMDs tend to be more laid-back
⭐ BMDs will not be a hunting companion
⭐ BMDs are usually a bit larger than a golden

Both parents have had genetic testing and OFA evaluations.

Saylor and Sully had 4 beautiful golden retrievers on July 3rd!

What has happened over the last 3 weeks?
🌼ENS (early neurological stimulation) = done!
🌼ESI (early scent introduction) = done!
🌼First vet visit, dewclaws removed✔️
🌼Daily handling exercises started
🌼Nails clipped ✔️
🌼First deworming ✔️
🌼Eating puppy mush started today!
🌼Moved out of their whelping box. They're now in a larger area with potty trays - it's a work in progress but they have fewer accidents daily!
🌼Noise introduction (vacuums, recordings of fireworks, guns, traffic, construction, etc) has started

All 4 puppies have families waiting to welcome them home in 5 short weeks ❤️ We are blessed to be able to spend these formative weeks with them, enjoying their cute antics, snuggles and emerging personalities!

Mr. Orange is our last puppy! This fluffy shy guy is sure to steal your heart ❤️ If you're looking for a Velcro dog, Orange is for you - he will be your constant companion! He is very laid-back but will still enjoy walks and outings with his family. Orange is not the puppy for a busy family that will leave him on his own a lot. If you're interested in making Mr. Orange your best buddy, send us a message!

Puppy mush!

My favorite time of the day! Happy, playful puppies with full tummies. At the end of the video you'll see the pups are catching on to our "puppy puppy puppy" recall!

Goodnight!

There's more food on their coats than in their tummies! Started mush a week earlier than usual. Willa has done a great job feeding 14 pups for 3 weeks! Time for a little help :)

The sound of puppies getting their fill! Weight gain has been a little less than we'd like the last few days... We separated the 14 into 2 litters during the day so meal time isn't so chaotic!

A good night's rest + full bellies = energetic puppies!

4 weeks old and first time eating mush. I think they like it!!

Puppy play time! As they grow we will expand their play area and introduce new toys. Litter training also started this week and they are catching on quickly!
