🌞🐾 Summer Heat Safety Tips for Your Furry Friends!🐾🌞

As temperatures soar, the Merced County Animal Services Bureau reminds you to keep your pets cool and safe. Follow these essential tips:

1. Ensure your pets always have access to fresh, cool water.
2. Pets need a cool, shaded area away from the direct sun.
3. Even with windows cracked, temperatures can skyrocket in minutes.
4. Walk your pets during cooler parts of the day, in the early morning or late evening.
5. Asphalt can be scorching. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.

Let's make sure our animal friends enjoy the summer safely! 🐶🐱

April showers bring May flowers and reduced adoption fees!! We will be offering reduced fees from Wednesday to Saturday. So come in and visit and maybe you can find your own Easter surprise.

With the warm weather this week, we brought out our pools for the dog play yards. We use these in the summer to keep our dogs cool and refreshed. Splash loves her pool time, but would love to find a family even more! As a reminder, all large dogs have waived adoption fees through the end of the month! We will be open tomorrow from 10am-3pm and on Tuesday from 9:30am-4:30pm. Oso The Dancing Dog

Happy Friday! After two months of waiting for someone to pick him, Oso "The Dancing Dog" is on his way to a new life with Second Chance German Shepherd Rescue! He will be going to an adoption event this weekend and we are sure this happy dancing boy will quickly charm his way into his forever home. As you can hear in the video, we are all very excited for him!
