As I sit here and reflect on the 2024 Basenji Club of America National Specialty, all I can say is WOW! To see so many dogs we bred being used was amazing. I'm sure their owners will post their own brags, but I want to brag on them too!

"Bet" aka Spring Willow's My Money's on Her - 1st place 9-12 Puppy bitch class, Winners Bitch, Best of Winners, and Best Puppy, loved by myself and Jessica Fisher, Exquisitely presented by Dan Buchwald assisted by Lisa Blondina

"Player" aka Spring Willow's Making Money Moves - Owned and loved by Addyson Blatt and myself - 2nd place in the 9-12 Puppy bitch class to her litter sister Bet

"Samantha" aka Klassic's Hot to Trot with Spring Willow co-bred with Sue Kite and owned by Sue and Jeff Gillespie - 1st place Bred By Puppy, Reserve Winner's Bitch, and Best Bred By.

"Mona" aka Spring Willow's Too Hot to Handle with Klassic - co-bred with Sue Kite, loved by myself and Jessica Fisher , 1st place Open Black, Tan and White.

"Hank" - Spring Willow's Hey Good Lookin' - Top 20 Contender

"Punk" - Spring Willow's Pumpkin to Talk About - Owned by myself and Lisa Blondina - Top 20 Contender, and made the first cut in the Champion Bi***es (35 total)

"Merit" - Spring Willow's Made You Look - Owned by me made it to the final cut, just out of the ribbons

"Reba" - Spring Willow's Cowgirls Don't Cry - Owned and love by Carolyn Boutchyard - Award of Merit

"Hugo" - Spring Willow's Inevitable Occurance at Possum Creek - Owned and Loved by Joy Laffenburger and Carole Kirk - 1st place 7-10 Veteran, Best Veteran, Award of Merit

I'm sure I probably missed someone, please know it isn't intentional. My mind is a bit jumbled with all the wonderful things that happened this past week. Thank you to our Judge, Ms. Ann Harrison, Hacker Basenjis, for finding our crew. Thank you to our extended basenji family for loving the kids and to our breed community for your kind comments. This has been a breeder's dream, watching all our hard work and vision come to fruition.

We are looking for a forever home for this beauty. Heavenly recently came back to us after her owner unexpectedly passed away. She was VERY well loved ( maybe too much 😉) but we are working on that with diet and exercise. She just turned 9 but has a lot of life left in her, especially when a soccer ball is involved. She’s been an excellent house dog and she has had only one accident since she got here. Gets along with every dog we have put her out with. She loves people and drags me towards everyone we see on our walks. She can’t wait to meet kids, rolling over on her back for belly rubs every time they pet her. We haven’t tried her with kids under 8 simply because we haven’t met any, but I feel like she would be great with any respectful kids. House trained, current on vax and already spayed.
