Welcome back! Welcome home to all of you who have known me as a "pet expert" and author of seven nonfiction books about animals. In a way, this was another "life. Yes, I still rescue and care for animals. But I have delved deeply into the world of spirituality throughout my life and, in particular, during the past 5 years of tumult. I am still (and always will be, I suspect) an ardent animal and environmental activist. I have just published a brand new book, a biography of my spiritual teacher and mentor. It's called Katherine: A Woman of Vision and is the amazing true life story of turn-of-the-century British psychic, medium, healer and visionary, Katherine Hayward. Katherine had an "out-of-the-body". experience at age 7. She communicated with "angelic beings" who advised her to return to the physical body. When she awoke, she spoke in a full mature adult voice and knew the future. Throughout World Wars I & II, she taught and proved that there is no death, that humans are immortal and that the real 'you' is not the mind or the physical body, but the Power that motivates them. She taught that life on earth is a school through which we learn to evolve spiritually. She counseled world leaders, notable public figures and celebrities Please check it out on Amazon. Katherine had great respect, appreciation and love of animals and all living beings.
I was divorced nearly four years ago and that event was life-transforming. I won custody of all of our dogs ( I believe I had 22 rescue dogs at the the time, 2.5 acres of land, a huge fenced- in back yard with a large pond (my own ecosystem in which ducks, many varieties of turtles, hundreds of fish, and all kinds of birds ranging from blue herons to geese to cormorants). I had to sell our house - I couldn't possibly afford to pay and care for such high maintenance property. But I received a very small amount of settlement of money and assets that I had earned over a 39 - year marriage. Completely unexpected were the results of our settlement. I poured all of my money into litigation which I hadn't wanted, I had wanted arbitration and our divorce to be amicable I certainly didn't want to spend my money on legal fees. The money could have been of help to so many human and animal welfare organizations. I had rescued, adopted and rehabilitated dogs that had been terribly abused and/or traumatized and terrorized. Following the divorce, I was left physically injured as a result of an accident and had very limited finances with which I had to pay my legal fees and, of course, health care, food and vet care for my dogs. I had made a lifetime commitment to care for my babies, and although all my attorneys advised me to:"get rid" of the dogs, I refused, knowing that they had already been injured and abandoned. I had made a COMMITMENT which I have honored and continue to honor. Well, enough for now. I'll share more information with you in my next post. It's good to be back. Do check out my newest website: Drdianepomerance.com and my other FB pages: Diane Pomerance and Dr. Diane Pomerance. There's even a "Katherine" page. Hope you enjoy. Warm regards to all of you. Diane
