In honor of National Vet Tech week, please join us in recognizing our entire staff. Each person plays a critical role in the care of each pet that comes through our door. What is a veterinary technician? They’re lab technicians, radiology technicians, surgery technicians, anesthesiologists, phlebotomists, pharmacy technicians, oral hygienists, kennel technicians, counselors, and so much more. What is a veterinary technician assistant? They are the extra hands much needed by the technicians and doctors. They assist in all procedures while maintaining the supplies, keeping a full supply of clean towels/blankets, and cleaning all areas of the office. Let’s not forget another very important part of their job, they’re learning to take on the role of a technician. All of this happens while providing our boarding pets a clean environment, medications, food & fresh water, potty & play time, and much deserved hugs and love. What is the role of a veterinary receptionist? They answer each call with care knowing there’s a loving pet owner on the other end wanting care for their pet. They are prepared for a routine call and the call of a terrified pet owner. When our schedule is full, they often work magic to make room for one more, one more, and just one more. Our receptionists are high level multitaskers. They do much more than answer the phone. Every appointment scheduled has tasks attached to it and all are important. The reception team works together to be sure each task is fully completed. Through being vomited on, urinated on, pooped on, and tears shed, our team goes above and beyond to provide your pet with the best care. Yes, there are difficult moments, but there’s many great moments with smiles and laughs. Each person on our team has a special place in their big heart for pets of all kinds. We are proud of our amazing team! We appreciate who they are and all they do!
With much appreciation,
Dr. Bray

Due to issues beyond our control, we are experiencing internet and phone outages. AT&T states it may take 7-8 hours to make repairs. We're sorry for the inconvenience!

07/20/2022

Due to the high demand to see our exotics doctor, and the growing number of appointments that do not show, we must now collect the (non-refundable) exam fee at the time of scheduling. We appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and business.
The exam fee will be credited to your account in the event you need to reschedule, provided you give us a 24 hour notice.
Thank you!!

This is so very true…..taken from another caring vet tech from another clinic sharing her heart..

I have read recently multiple things speaking negatively of veterinarians. In our clinic and in many clinics, we often take pets to the treatment area for examinations. We have trained our staff to not refer to it as the “the back” due to negative connotations. I recently had a client question what happens “in the back” so I wanted to share with you what you don’t see that takes place in “the back.”

There are squeals of delight when that new puppy comes in for a visit and every employee must come and ooh and ahh over the bundle of cuteness.

There is a veterinarian often working through lunch and without a bathroom break in order to return phone calls or examine drop off patients.

There are tears as it is realized that there is nothing more that can be done for a patient that has been being nursed for the last 3 days and it is prepared to say goodbye to its family.

There is silence and words of love as a body is prepared for cremation. The utmost respect being shown to not only your family member, but one of ours as well.

There is chatter as veterinarians collaborate on cases in order to make sure that each case is receiving optimal care.

There is counting as CPR is being performed on the critical case that was rushed in and technicians and veterinarians trade off doing compressions.

There is laughter, when your dog does something adorably cute that you might overlook at home but completely makes our day.

There is frustration when someone calls to yell at us for something outside our control (prices of drugs or food that we have absolutely no control over).

There is guilt when a veterinarian literally can’t fit in another work in or emergency and has to turn away a patient.

And finally, there is love. Love for our jobs, love for our patients and love for one another.

So take a moment and thank your veterinary team for what happens in “the back.”
