We will help pet owners give their pets the best quality of life through education, excellent preventative care, healthy whole-body treatment, and compassionate interaction with their pets. We offer both routine and emergency services (during business hours only) for all of your pet's health needs.

Did you know it's Be Kind To Animals Week? This is an annual week-long celebration held in the first full week of May and takes place from May 1 to 7 this year.
The week is designed to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts made to ensure animal safety in the U.S. and around the world. Since the week’s inception in 1915, the American Humane Association has hosted this week all over the U.S. and has encouraged other organizations and individuals to join them. It aims to spread awareness about the need to be kind to animals and to protect them and their habitats.

Hello, there dear, dear clients and friends,

On May 11th, 2023 it will be 22 years since I opened the doors of Aubrey Animal Medical Center and began growing this veterinary practice in this community. Oh, how I have enjoyed taking care of all your sweet pets and knowing all of you amazing people! It has been very fulfilling working here and serving all of you!

I have some really good news to share. I am in the process of selling this beautiful practice to an amazing veterinarian and colleague, Dr. Valerie Head. Many of you have already met her. She is a wonderful veterinarian who will be committed to taking care of all of your pet care needs. I am thrilled to sell to an individual, not a corporation (which was very important to me) and she is beloved by my staff, many of whom have worked with her previously in another practice. She is currently working here on Wednesdays and Fridays and covering for me in the event that I am gone. The fantastic staff that you have grown to know and love will still be here serving you and you can always reach out to Kayla Wagner, our AAMC practice manager, or Christina Shearer, our head AAMC technician with any questions or concerns you may have.

We are all working together to make this transition as smooth and seamless as possible for you and your pets. I want to assure you everyone here cares tremendously for you and your pets and wants to give them the best care possible.

Dr. Head is an excellent doctor and surgeon, and she is also very knowledgeable in treating many different exotic pets and birds and I am beyond thrilled to be able to sell Aubrey Animal Medical Center which has been my heart and soul for 22 years to such an amazing doctor and individual who I know will take excellent care of all of you and your wonderful pets, my amazing staff and will take AAMC to new and wonderful places. You may be curious or asking why now and the truth is through life’s challenges my spiritual growth and faith have led me to a bigger mission and vision and I will be purposely pursuing my new career as a motivational speaker, creating digital programs about how to build an extraordinary life from the inside out, enjoying my new hobby scuba diving, and traveling. To honor you and all of our amazing clients we are having an Open House to introduce you to Dr. Valerie Head and our amazing staff and to celebrate my retirement from Aubrey Animal Medical Center so that I can say goodbye with proper hugs. Plus having a party is a great way to share the joy I feel for getting to do this wonderful work with your pets and being part of this community for the last 22 years. We are going all out with a great food truck, prizes, and drawings, a tag machine to make free personalized tags for your pets, and more food and drinks.
You will see adoptable dogs from Miles of Hope and a few other extra special treats.

April showers bring May flowers, but they also bring muddy paws! Share your best tips for keeping your furry friends clean. Here is our top 10 list for keeping your furry friend's paws clean this spring Wipe your pet's paws with a damp cloth or pet wipes after walks to remove dirt and debris. Keep a towel by the door to wipe your pet's paws before they come inside. Use a paw wash or paw plunger to clean your pet's paws after walks or hikes. Trim the hair between your pet's paw pads to prevent dirt and debris from getting stuck. Use pet-safe paw balm or moisturizer to soothe dry or cracked paws. Avoid walking your pet on freshly fertilized lawns or areas with chemicals that can irritate their paws. Consider using booties or paw covers on your pet's feet when walking on rough or uneven terrain. Keep your pet's nails trimmed to prevent dirt and debris from getting trapped under the nails.
