💥 More dogs go missing on the 4th of July than any other time of the year 💥
Help keep your pup safe & at home with these tips!

1) Make sure your dogs microchip info is current. Also, make sure the microchip is registered. Many times, chips are implanted only to find out the owners never registered them and sent in their info to the chip company. Need help determining if your dogs chip has current info? We will gladly scan your pup's chip and look it up for you.

2) Make sure your dog is wearing a collar with some sort of ID tag with current information. Make sure the writing on the ID tag is legible and not worn. Do not take the collar off and ensure the dog is wearing the collar while outside at all times.

3) Ensure that the collar fits properly. Collar should fit snug enough that it won't slip over their head, but not so tight that breathing is restricted. You should be able to comfortably fit two fingers between the collar and your dogs neck.

4) Exercise your dog in the early part of the day when it's cool or exercise indoors in the afternoon. Use a mix of physical (walks, playing tug, fetch) and mental exercise (Kongs, puzzle toys) to tire out your dog.

5) Most fireworks start around dusk. If your dog is scared of fireworks make their last potty break of the day long before dusk.

6) If you have to take your dog out after dark, walk them on a leash, even if you have a fenced in yard. Make sure the collar or harness is snug and they can't slip out of it. Never leave dogs unattended outside while fireworks could go off.

As always, be aware of signs that fireworks could be stressing your dog out. Dogs communicate with us using their body language, be mindful of what they are trying to tell you. Signs include:
Barking
Pacing
Panting
Trembling
Wide eyes
Flattened ears
Hiding
Attempting to escape

We 💚 Clover and we love helping our rescue partners whenever we can.

Clover is available for adoption, and she does great at doggie daycare and boarding. She is a certified good girl 🥰

Last night the community I live in, Pilot Point, was struck by a tornado. I, my dogs, and all the animals at our ranch are ok.
Canine Cowboy would like to extend help to communities affected by helping with found dogs. If you have found a dog we’d be happy to scan them for a chip. We can also hold dogs temporarily until animal control can pick up. Please give us a call before bringing any found dogs by as we have a protocol for animals with an unknown vaccine history. 940-305-9041

We’re turning 5 years old!!! This week Canine Cowboy will celebrate its 5th year in business by hosting a birthday pawty all week long! Here’s whats on the schedule:

Tuesday May 21: Pool Birthday Party! We will break out the kiddie pools, splash pad, and unicorn sprinkler along with supersized beach balls to kick off our pawty! Dogs will get an afternoon of fun and get to splash around with their pals! Please have all dogs dropped off prior to 11am in order to participate.

Wednesday May 22: Birthday Cake for Humans & Dogs! Birthday Photoshoot! We will have a special birthday treat for humans & dogs! Enjoy a piece of cake and take a special birthday treat home for your pup! We will also have a birthday photoshoot set up for the dogs.

Thursday May 23: $5 Off Daycare! What better way to celebrate turning 5 than by giving $5 off all daycare reservations on Thursday? Get a full day of daycare for $23 instead of $28. The $5 off will be applied at check out.

Friday May 24: Coffee, Donuts, & Cookies! Start your weekend & morning off right! Get a free coffee, donuts, and/or cookie at drop off.

UPDATE: this dog is at the Little Elm Animal Shelter. He took the last available kennel, they have no more space. PLEASE PLEASE if you are looking for another dog to add to the family go adopt! Or if you can foster, please reach out and we can direct you to some great rescues to foster through.

🆘 FOUND DOG at Villages 3Eighty Apartments.
This dog was found eating trash 😭 at an apartment complex just south of the Savannah housing development. This dog is definitely skinny (body condition 1) & could use some groceries.

Do you recognize this pup? We will hold for the night and then contact little elm Animal Control in the morning for pick up.

If you know where this pup belongs please call or text us 940-305-9041. Calls and texts will only be answered during our business hours. Proof of ownership required

We hope y’all are staying warm and cozy during this hard freeze. We will be open as normal through the duration of this winter storm. Our dogs will be spending lots of time inside snuggled up with one another. Potty breaks while temps are below freezing are limited to 10 minutes at a time and we have sweaters and jackets for our dogs who are less tolerant to the cold.

Current customers, if you have not yet made a reservation you are welcome to add yourself to the waitlist. If a spot opens up we will contact you. To add your reservation to the waitlist go through the normal process of making a reservation. At the end it will tell you we're full, and you can click the option "add to waitlist". If you're already on the waitlist there is nothing further you need to do. We will approve reservations off the waitlist as cancellations come in.

We are not accepting waitlist reservation from new clients during these dates.
