Blue Sky Therapeutic Riding and Respite was founded in 2010 by a group of people devoted to developing a comprehensive program to help those living with autism and other physical, cognitive and/or emotional disabilities, as well as their siblings, parents and caretakers. Blue Sky's therapeutic riding center has helped many special needs individuals gain confidence and improve motor skills, cogniti

ve ability and gain valuable life skills. Blue Sky wants to be able to offer the opportunity for riders of all abilities, including siblings of special needs individuals, to also be able to ride and compete in special events. We are creating an environment to teach life skills, offer the ability to participate in events such as Special Olympics, offer referrals to community resources and assist and offer support and respite to all members of a family with special needs children. Our plans for future programs include a resource center for families to access quality help and programs and a respite day camp for individuals of all abilities. We want Blue Sky to become a place of respite, strength and resources for families living the day-to-day challenges of raising a special needs child. Our goal is to serve this growing need in our community with these programs at minimal or low cost to our families. In addition, we will look to positive and proactive fundraising events and donations to help this community resource continue to expand and serve a vital need.

This Saturday (12/7) is BLUE SKY CHRISTMAS!!! Come and enjoy the fun! Santa will be there and ready to pose for a picture with you! We start at 10:00 and end at 2:00. The Silo will be open as well as other local vendors. Our PURPOSE Partners have been making some incredible Christmas gifts for you to purchase. The event is free to the public and all are welcome!!

Today was a huge WIN for our Paigey Poo 🩷 Iykyk. It’s so hard to watch your friend struggle, but boy oh boy when we get to witness her win, it’s like lightening in a bottle. It’s absolutely incredible. We are so proud of this girl, we could combust! Patience, unending love, and unwavering support. This is what we mean when we say, “every step of the way”. Through the highs and lows. 🩷 It takes a village. And yes those are cheesy lines, but they hold so much truth for us. HOPE is an animal assisted mentorship program designed to help clients use their deep connection with animals to build trust, confidence, and a sense of purpose. This program uses unmounted ground work to work on an individualized plan to obtain the clients desired goals.

Brisha took advantage of the Texas sunshine and took a trail ride to chat with the goats. Max even joined in. Brisha learned about the noises goats make and what they like to eat which is sometimes similar to what horses eat.

I know they say tomorrow….but that is really TODAY!! Saturday, 8/8 from 9:00-2:00! They have been working so hard and there is nothing more they would love than to show you around!!
