Every Dog & Cat to Have It’s Day During Empty the Shelters Weekend
We are partnering with BISSELL Pet Foundation, a national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending pet homelessness, for its Spring National “Empty the Shelters” Event which will run from May 9, 2024 through May 11, 2024.

“May flowers are here and that means that Summer is coming fast,” said Troy Waffner, Director, CNYSPCA. “Working with Bissell Pet Foundation our goal is to make sure that as many animals as possible will have a home for the Summer and to be able to run around with their new families.”

The adoption fee will be reduced to $50 for both cats and dogs (excluding kittens and puppies under eight months old). The shelter will be open for visits and adoptions each day from 10 am – 3:30 pm.

BISSELL Pet Foundation’s “Empty the Shelters” event is the largest funded adoption event in the country. With a goal of encouraging more families to choose adoption, this lifesaving effort has helped more than 190,000 pets find loving homes since 2016. As BISSELL Pet Foundation’s largest program, a total of 687 animal welfare organizations in forty-nine states and Canada have participated throughout the years. During BISSELL Pet Foundation’s “Empty the Shelters” quarterly national events, an average of 1,225 shelter pets are adopted each day.

🚨Attention SPCA Friends & Neighbors! 🚨
Our Humane Law Enforcement and Executive Director are on the scene in Auburn, NY where over a A DOZEN cats are in need of care!

These kitties are terrified and to better provide for them here at the SPCA, we are asking for donations of small cat carriers. These carriers will provide much needed hiding spaces for the cats while they adjust to life here at the shelter.
