We also have 6 of our newest intakes test positive for heartwormsšŸ˜° itā€™s a long, expensive treatment especially 6 at one time.
But they all must do it, so they can make it to their forever families healthy and happy and ready for life as it all should have always been for these babies.
Treatment start to finish is approximately $400-$500 a dog
and all 6 of these are currently in the works.
Donations are desperately needed right now.
People are failing these babies left and right anymore and weā€™re doing everything we can to help as many as we can, and of course that means we need everyoneā€™s help willing to give it. Our vet bill doubles by the week right nowā€¦
Donations are much needed and appreciated.

Sweet Jakeā€¦
One of the old men that came to us from the Randolph co situation.
What started off as a great start, a foster home being hand fed waffles by the sweetest boy quickly came to halt when he started acting sickly and refusing to eat, and this boy loves to eat. Well turns out he has broke with PARVO. He is currently being treated by our amazing friends at countryside.
We have yet to catch a break the last several weeks with the influx of many sickly hoarding/abandoned situations.
Jake surely could use your helpā€¦
Our vet bill is quickly rising as we get everyone treated and get everyoneā€™s needs addressed as quickly as possible. Being a senior, parvo was not what any of us were expecting for this poor old man.
If you can donate to help Jake get better please doā€¦

Please do right and keep your babies warm. We will be happy to board your outside dogs for a few days if needed.
IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING. If you see dogs STUCK-as in chained, or without somewhere to go for warmth-outside, call the proper authorities now so the law can investigate and ensure proper housing is addressed BEFORE itā€™s too cold.

Randolph co kitty updateā€¦.
They are ALL the SWEETEST, there is no denying that.
They are eating like little tiny horses, and gaining weight quick and filling back out.
Working through getting the females fixed thanks to Dr Daniel for helping us make sure no more babies come to fruit after these boys and girls were all mixed together.
Everyone is battling some cold symptoms which is not surprising for the shape they were in, the amount of urine and poo they were covered in, and then bathsā€¦but theyā€™re getting meds and already feeling better.
Some sweet babies and theyā€™re so thankful to be feeling better, full bellies and just hanging out and relaxing while they recover.

Meet Cashā€¦
Cash was an owner surrender to a crowded shelter without the means to give him the attention and time he needed to settle and show his true self. He was scared and didnā€™t want to be touched.
The shelter reached out to us, hoping we could help give cash a chance to shine. Cash came to us, still unsure what was happening for the first couple days. He made instant friends with the other dogs around and let me tell you, this boy is one loyal little dude. He just needed someone he could trust, and help him figure out all this new craziness we call rescue.
Cash absolutely adores other dogsā€¦he plays so good with everyone. He is pretty well potty trained, kennel trained, walks well on a leash, loves hanging out with his favorite human(s), loves food and toys. Heā€™s such a different dog today than thay terrified little guy we first met-and heā€™s a little gem!!
Cash weighs all of 10lbs-itā€™s a big scary world out there without your human by your sidešŸ˜¢
Heā€™s about 8yo and would love a sweet lap to call his own!!

At the end of the dayā€¦this, this is what we work so hard for.
We have named this sweet boy Dante, and yesterday he was terrified and unsure about what to expect was to come, todayā€¦he gave me the biggest/sweetest hug and we just sat there like this. He kept hugging and all my tears just fell on his sweet little/big head.
Sweet Dante, somehow someway-weā€™re all gonna be ok and will get you through this together.
Thank you ALL SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING AND ALL THE SUPOORT!! We see you and we feel the love, all of us here at woofšŸ¾

Yesterdayā€¦
We were made aware of three dogs, that had been abandoned in a home in Roanoke. The person who bought this land this home is sitting on was desperate to find these babies help. Others have tried and they were not coming willingly. This was once their home, and had people there with them and they were likely waiting for them to return.
Sadly, no one was coming. We spent four hours in this craziness catching these three dogs. Dogs had already been found passed away (thankfully we did not have to see that part).
They were terrified to be handled. They just could not stay. Was not an option.
These babies have been left at this home since before Thanksgiving, aside from the trash, f***s, rats, etc everywhere there were downed trees everywhere.
I can honestly say, in my 8.5 years rescuing, this is by far one of the hardest things Iā€™ve witnessed to date. These were not dogs, who got away and didnā€™t fair well on their ownā€¦that sat here for months starving, and surviving waiting for their family to come back.
As you all are aware, weā€™ve already had a lot going on around here and the last thing we needed was to take on 3 dogs who need a lot of help, BUT there was NO WAY I was going to know about their situation and know help was not coming and leave them there.
All three are traumatized, they want to trust and sadly are just in survival mode right now. Even through all this, not a single sign of aggression was shown towards us, just lots of resistance to leave.
These babies need to see the vet, need time to decompress and accept what is now.
If you can please help us help these babies now!! They so deserve this, and never deserved to be left like thisšŸ’” they are heartbroken right now BUT they will adjust and soon make amazing babies for families in the future.

Updateā€¦mayor is pending adoption with a previous adopter šŸ˜

Mayor updateā€¦
This boy is is already starting to feel so much better after starting meds for his skin and ear infections.
Mayor is about 2yo, heartworm negative, on his way to looking and feeling his best and would absolutely love to start looking for his forever family.
This boy is a TOTAL love bug. He loves to be near his people. He does fine with other dogs and cats, but humans are his jam and of course wherever the food/treats are youā€™ll find Mayor there-who can blame him, he obviously missed out on a few meals.
He does still need to be neutered but that will be taken care of through woof under his adoption fee.

Here we goā€¦the start of making sure no more kitties come to fruit.
The first two of the Randolph co cats going to get spayed.
Dr Daniel is spending her lunch to help get this ball rolling. Dr Daniel is a veterinarian who works behind the scenes a lot, giving her specialty service doing ultrasounds on a lot of your babies side by side with your main vet. She also, works behind the scenes to help spay/neuter a lot of feral/stray cats-this is done so solely off of donations and her free time. Donations directly to her cause, Tiger TNR would help not only these Randolph co cats, but so many feral/stray colonies in our community-such as the tiger town babies so many of you see and find often. Not all stray cats are able to be caught and tamed and the most fair thing to do is help fix them, she also treats for fleas and worms, and antibiotic shots to help them feel better.
So please donateā€¦
Hereā€™s her direct Venmo, which I promise you ever $$ goes to helping many, many cats.
Thank you Dr Daniel!!

Going to share againā€¦
These ARE the animals currently in Woofs care from the Randolph co home.
THESE ARE THE ONLY DOGS AND CATS WE RECIEVED FROM THE HOME and into our care. We did help new hope rescue intake their dogs but we do NOT have them in our care.
Some have gone with other rescues as well. None have left our care yet, none have been adopted yet (we donā€™t do immediate adoptions anyways), we did not oversee the whole situation so can not answer to where all the animals that were there have gone or where they are, their statuses with the other rescues, when those will be ā€œadoptableā€. We simply stepped up to help the ones we could at this time. I have taken the time to find out how each and every one of these had ended up in that home before coming to us, descriptions will follow under each animals picture.
I absolutely do not mind people reaching out with inquiries if people think one may have been theirs at some pointā€¦but please stop coming at us rude. Weā€™re always happy to reunite pets as often as possible with missing families, WITH APPROPRIATE PROOF OF OWNERSHIP and quite frankly, if by chance a missing pet has ended up in our care through this whole situation- maybe be thankful they are now safe. I will not post any persons names, or vet records. But if anyone is concerned I will gladly try to confirm these babies for you.
Just be nice peopleā€¦!!! And for those of you who have, thank you.
We are just people who love animals and want the best for all. So please stop with the police threats, etcā€¦weā€™re just here to help.
And as far as local strays, we simply try not to take unless itā€™s a desperate situation and all are posted at the time we get them, otherwise they are directed to our local or their local shelters.

We need to clear up some things. So hear us out. This post is going to p**s some of you off and thatā€™s ok!!

We, as in Jonna, Jenny and Daneyell, just PERSONALLY spoke with Mike Segrest the DA for our counties. He is reaching out to the 4 rescues that helped with the Randolph co dog hoarding case. He thanked us all for stepping up to take in the dogs/cats that we each have. He specifically asked us which ones we had, the conditions that they were in, and asked that we keep up with records from all vet visits to have documentation for the court case. He also PERSONALLY said that he trust our judgment on rehoming the dogs moving forward. He gave us permission to ADOPT the animals to loving homes.

We, Jenny, Jonna and Daneyell, have spent the last 24 hours answering all text messages for people asking if we had their dogs. So far none of the dogs we have are ā€œstolenā€. We also have spoken to several people and have proof that they have OWNER surrendered their dogs to Jeannie. We have documentation of those as well.

We are trying our best to keep it together on top of answering threatening post, mean messages, bashing messages etc. The keyboard warriors need to STOP. Busting a hoarding case is ALOT of work. Itā€™s very time consuming and we donā€™t have time to deal with the drama YOU are creating. Mike is tired of it, and is rescues are tired of it.

Jenny and Jonna have spent the last 2 days going to vet appointments, giving medicine, bathing and comforting the new rescues we have. Danyelle spent half her day driving, loading, unloading and helping settle these babies in after spending the morning caring for all the dogs in her care and returning home to repeat until 11p that day. So moving forward, we will ONLY answer to Mike Segrest and our rescue partners. We will continue to answer messages as we can. All of this takes time.

Since we have been given permission to rehome the dogs, we will do just that.

All the he said/she said mess is NOT helping these dogs or the cats. It is wasting our times, and taking away from us focusing on getting these babies straight.

Some have come with proof where they came from. Some have come just having had dentals done, like days ago. Some have had bad fleas and skin issues, while some have had no fleas. I donā€™t know exactly what happened out there to say anything other than what I know Iā€™ve seen with my own eyes.
I do realize there was a dog that had been missing and the owner was able to locate it and get him back, so grateful for that. Butā€¦what i do know is while Iā€™m all for getting an animal reunited with a missing family, all this is just distracting from getting all of them the help the need and moving forward with the rest of their lives. IF someone truly thinks their missing pet is with me, please reach out. So far every inquiry has been a fail.

I know we will do everything in our ability to ensure all get everything they need now and from here on out.

Please please focus on the animals getting the help they need and not all the he said/she said. We have cried, We have missed sleep since this started. We are exhausted. Our heart hurts for the whole situation. But we vowed to ourselves the day we took this rescue on to give it everything we got to give. And the social media drama wasnā€™t part of that.
100% not justifying the situation either. All that is obvious, those animals needed help. Iā€™ve made a point to stay out of the drama and just focus on HOW I can help the ones I can. But everyone thinking all these dogs have been stolen is just a bit cray crayšŸ«£

If you want to help, then donate and share our post. We are doing what we do best and thatā€™s TAKING CARE OF THE DOGS.

Someone truly needs Mary in their life. She has worked soooo hard to learn to trust and has always been the sweetest girl-even when she was first trapped and terrified. Her fosters are amazing and have done amazing things to help Mary further along.

I am fostering this sweet girl with Woof Ave Rescue, and she is looking for her forever home! Mary is a three year old tabby with a heartwarming story. Once living outside all alone, Mary was taken in by Woof. Although she was wary of people at first, with time and love, she has blossomed into the most loyal companion. Mary is super affectionate and loves to snuggle up beside her humans on the bed or couch. She has the cutest scratchy meow when demanding pets, and when she purrs, itā€™s loud and content. One of her favorite things besides getting scratched is playing with her wand toy. She also loves watching the birds out of the window from her cat tree. Mary is a beautiful reminder that even the shyest souls can grow into the most affectionate companions. She is around 3 years old, cat friendly, microchipped, and spayed. She would do best in a quieter home. Message me if youā€™re interested in adopting her or meeting her. You can also fill out an adoption application here: https://form.jotform.com/232847590488168

Been another long day cleaning babies up, and getting everyone wormed, flea meds, vaccinated but we made it.
All the babies are settling in well and all seem happy.
The kittens, they were so grossā€¦covered in pee/poop and had urine scalds on the bottom of their feet-not sure if that from being in the kennel together for transport or what.
Still have to get all seen by the vet, combo tested for all the kittens, dogs need heartworm testing and seniors need bloodwork. The senior boys are thankfully neutered.
All kittens have been separated male and females-we donā€™t need no baby making around here until we can get everyone spayed/neutered.
George is still visiting so he can be close for his vet care before he heads to foster and finally got his much needed bath too.
But everyone has settled in and adjusted well. All full, full bellies, worms and fleas be gone, clean and warm and snuggly. Happy dogs, happy rescue mama!!šŸ¾
Donations are much appreciated as this is a lot to help at one timeā€¦

One good thing about a failed snow day for our areaā€¦all our new rescue babies will get my undivided attention today since itā€™s a slow day out there-of course I will miss seeing our regular visitors though.
Lots of flea meds, and dewomers packed and ready to get these babies started on the right track and figure esches needs as we get to know them, until each can make it to the vet.
Donations still so much appreciated to help get these babies feeling better sooner than latterā€¦.
Updates on all our new woof babies coming to you todayšŸ¾
