First, I love this mare.β€οΈ
A few weeks ago, I took Reason along to a ranch horse show when the filly I was going to take couldn't go.
Reason (RTR Reason to Dream) is 9 years old now, (I can always remember because she is the same age as my daughter). I got her as a yearling and started her, she took me to my first open cowhorse futurity and the whole process taught me so much, which was what it was all about for me.
She has been teaching some lessons the last few years and introducing riders to the western ranch horse world. My daughter has also been learning to ride her recently and she's given pony rides to my 4 year old son. I haven't shown her in over a year and very little in the past few years. But, I decided to take her in a ranch reining class.
We took it easy and cruised through the pattern, but she felt happy to be in the pen and she managed to mark a 75. Most of all it was nice to see how this once spicy filly is maturing and becoming versatile that I can trust her with my kids and students, but also tune her a bit and go have some fun π΄.
