A quick and easy de-shed for Blue yesterday 😊
Haha, just kidding! This process took over 4 hours, but I always want to get as much shedding hair off as possible. I won’t send any long-coated dog home without being able to easily pull a comb from the root of their hair outwards on all parts of the head and body. This is to ensure they leave with no tangles and/or undercoat hiding in there.
This is one of my favorite types of grooms to do because blowing all of that hair out and the clean looking end result is so satisfying. All of those hair tumbleweeds on the floor are only from the first part of Blue’s de-shed before his bath!
I forgot to get a side view of Blue’s completed groom, but hopefully you can tell how neat his coat looks and feels now from his time at the beach 🤩

Petunia here has a PSA for all of her furry friends and their humans (after she’s done inspecting the camera…don’t worry, she does a thorough job).
The Bubbly Puppy is currently booked out until mid-October! I did not expect to book out so far and so quickly, and would like to thank all of the wonderful clients (dog and human) that have trusted me with their pups.
Although I love working with dogs and have put my all into this salon, it is hard work on the body. I’ve known this, but am just now starting to feel it a bit more. I’m not going anywhere, but have reduced my hours in order to make The Bubbly Puppy more sustainable long-term. The Bubbly Puppy is open 4 days a week currently, but will drop down to 3 days a week starting in October. New hours are listed below:
Monday: 10-6
Friday: 10-6
Saturday: 8-4
With all of that being said - if you’ve brought your dog to The Bubbly Puppy and haven’t rebooked their next appointment, now would be a great time to text or Facebook message me to set something up so that there is no wait when your dog needs their bath and/or haircut 😊 I will have to start a waitlist soon! 🐾
Again, thank you everyone for your support and for letting me make your dogs look beautiful as can be! 💗🫧
Buddy 💙 He’s a long time friend of my dog, Stevie! They met at the dog park years ago and now she just tries to steal his treats (you can see her trying to be sly in one of the pictures, lol). Today was Buddy’s second time being groomed at The Bubbly Puppy and he did pawsome! He likes comfort cuddles and sat his butt right on my lap while I brushed him out 😂He’s the best boy with the best pawrents 🐾
Winston 💗
He’s a 5 month old puppy Goldendoodle who had never stepped foot into a salon before. I wanted to ensure he had a good experience for his first time, which is why we started off with just a bath instead of a full haircut. This would help him get used to the processes, different feelings, and weird sounds involved in grooming without overwhelming him.
As I do with every dog, the first thing we did was hang out on the floor for a few minutes to make sure he was comfortable eating treats, which I found is such a helpful way to built trust. Moving gradually and at a pace that he felt comfortable with, he ended up chillaxin so hard that he kept falling asleep standing up, snugging up to me so he wouldn’t fall over 🥹 I could play with his paws without a care in the world. Not every salon will allow the time needed to achieve this, and while there are lots of great groomers out there, many are not trained to pay attention to a dog’s subtle behavioral cues and know how to react based off of them - this is all exactly why I started The Bubbly Puppy! 🫧
I truly love paying attention to the way each dog reacts to different parts of their groom and basing my next move as a groomer off of this. Every dog is different and my goal is to observe their reactions to all steps of the grooming process and try out different ways of doing things to determine which makes your dog feel most comfortable. It’s a slower process for some dogs than others, but allowing both your dog and I the time needed to get to this point of relaxation makes everything worth it 💕
*I was not planning on posting this video, so please ignore my faces and puppy talk 😅 Also don’t forget to check the comments for Winston’s post-bath & brush photos! He did great letting me trim some hair from his eyes so he could see the world again!
