Dr. Carissa Smullen (Dr. Cara) graduated from the University of Glasgow Veterinary School in 2010. She has been working as a small animal vet since then. She received her Veterinary Acupuncture Certification in 2014 and her Food Therapy Certification in 2016. She has seen her patients benefit greatly from alternative therapies and integrative medicine. She believes in treating the patient as a whole. Paws of Unity is a house call veterinary acupuncture and food therapy business. It was created to help treat pets using alternative therapies, such as acupuncture, herbs, and food therapy. These therapies can be used instead of or in addition to conventional veterinary medicine treatments. Dr. Cara began to see the need for these treatments to be performed in the home. Some pets become nervous at vet hospitals or their owners are unable to bring them in. Paws of Unity offers consults for alternative treatments, including acupuncture and food therapy. Dr. Cara will come to your home and perform a full physical exam on your furry family member and gather a complete history. Then she will develop a treatment plan. For further information, please visit the Paws of Unity website or feel free to contact Dr. Cara directly by phone or email.
