Our Valentine post didn't get much attention yesterday, but that's not slowing down this eligible bachelor!
First up, we have Danny! This sweet boy is our longest resident and has been with us for over a year now. 🤯 That's an entire year of waiting for his own sweetheart to come save him. Check him out and let us know if you'd like to meet Danny!

Check out Mac! This sweet boy is recovering from having his leg amputated, but truthfully, I don't think he notices a difference! He needs a foster home where he can relax and quietly recover until he's ready to join back in on the usual pup playing fun!
Mac is around 1.5 years old and currently weighs 32 pounds, so he's just the right size for apartments and houses alike. Email us if you'd like to meet him - [email protected]

It's February 1st.. Do you know what that means?
Officially time to lock down a Valentine!
We have several eligible bachelors and bachelorettes that are just waiting for a chance at love! Keep your eye on our page for the next 2 weeks to see a glimpse at some of our available prospects 😍

In the meantime, our dogs are anxiously waiting for their opportunity to impress. They are dressing in their most Valentine's-y attire and practicing their manners. If anyone catches your eye (for foster or adoption), be sure to email [email protected] to secure your spot on their card 🥰🥰

Some fosters have reported feeling guilty for leaving a foster pup in their kennel for 8 hours a day while at work, school, or other obligation.. Just a reminder that the dogs do not mind as long as you're able to give them love and attention every day! 🥳
Unfortunately with over 100 dogs in our care, we are not able to provide the valuable one-on-one time they need. We do our best with daily playgroups and walks, but there's nothing quite like spending time in a home environment

Meet Mr Handsome! He’s currently on strict kennel rest due to a broken pelvis, and he desperately needs a foster. Imagine how scary all of the loud shelter sounds are when you can’t even get up to investigate! We can loan fosters all of the supplies needed - including a larger than normal kennel. In case you missed it, 56 animals went into foster between Sunday-Tuesday! A busy time for fosters is usually 3-5 leaving in one day. Needless to say, the past few days have been completely chaotic trying to get everyone situated and out of the shelter, but with our community's help, WE DID IT!! Thank you to each and every person fostering with us! We only had 50 animals in foster when the weekend started, and we more than doubled that by Tuesday at 1pm 🩷

106 out of 154 animals are spending this cold winter snap in the comfort of a warm foster home!! ❄️ That leaves us with a total of 15 dogs in the shelter this morning to take care of. The number of cats is roughly double that, but staff can enjoy the warmth of the building to take care of them!
☃️PLEASE be sure to show us your foster during this time! We want to see them frolicking in the snow, curled up by the fireplace, or just hanging out in the house. You can send in photos and a cute little bio about their behavior to [email protected] and/or share their name, pictures, and anything else on your personal social media accounts! Snow fosters needed

🚨🚨🚨SNOW FOSTERS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY! 🚨🚨🚨

With the predicted weather, we will be closing early on Tuesday and closed all day on Wednesday. If the roads are not passable, most of our staff will not be able to come in safely. We do have a few that are very close with 4WD vehicles, but it will be very hard for potentially 2-4 staff members to walk, feed and care for 150 plus pets.

How can you help?
Pick up a foster Monday (8:30 am-2 pm) or Tuesday (8:30 am - 11 am) to keep until Thursday. This is a 72 hour plea.

✨We can loan crates, food, bowls, toy, and any other supplies needed.✨

If you are a current foster; please email [email protected] to set up a pick up time.

If you are not a current foster, please go to our website at www.carehumane.org under the FOSTER tab to apply to be a foster.
You can specify adult, puppy or kitten when communicating with our foster coordinator.

Just think how fun a foster will be while stuck at home during our SNOWMAGEDAN!

With the potential for cold and icy weather next week, why not take the opportunity to foster a dog for a few nights? You'll help them enjoy the warmth of a home setting, ease fears associated with the cold and possible snow, and it's just a cute photo op! Look at 4 of our current dogs in foster already enjoying the weather with blankets, sweaters, and comfy beds. Depending on how severe the weather is, we may not be here from 8-5 Tuesday and Wednesday. This means the dogs may stay in their kennels for extended periods of time.
