If you regularly pick up prescription food at our clinic, please let us know what you need by the end of day 12/13. If we do not have your pet's food in stock, we will need to order it by 8 am on 12/16. After this day, we cannot order any Hills diet until the new year. You will still have access to Hills to Home and our Online pharmacy https://brooksideveterinaryclinic.ourvet.com/pet/ for at home deliveries.

We will be closed on Christmas Eve 12/24 & Christmas Day 12/25

We will be closing at noon on New Years Eve 12/31 and will be closed on New Years Day 1/1/25.

It’s National Pet Dental Month! 👀 check out the tartar buildup on this patient of ours! The end result was of course pearly whites!! Periodontal disease is the most common dental condition in dogs and cats – by the time your pet is 3 years old, he or she will very likely have some early evidence of periodontal disease, which will worsen as your pet grows older if effective preventive measures aren’t taken. Early detection and treatment are critical, because advanced periodontal disease can cause severe problems and pain for your pet. Periodontal disease doesn’t just affect your pet’s mouth. Other health problems found in association with periodontal disease include kidney, liver, and heart muscle changes. It starts with plaque that hardens into tartar. Tartar above the gumline can often easily be seen and removed, but plaque and tartar below the gumline is damaging and sets the stage for infection and damage to the jawbone and the tissues that connect the tooth to the jaw bone. Periodontal disease is graded on a scale of 0 (normal) to 4 (severe). -AVMA
