Millie did a good dog board and train back in May. She was such a fun little dog to train. Lots of energy and personality! In the beginning she struggle with distraction but ended up excelling with training.
Jett’s introduction to heel.
Rose participates in our stay and train program. Her owner mentioned that he was going to take her kayaking this summer so I’ve been working on improving her balance. She’s gotten so much better at stabilizing herself on a wobbly surface. Rose has been enjoying the new challenge!
Recall practice with Chloe. Chloe is an approximately 6 month old mixed breed. She’s very smart and loves training.
Lovie has been working with me on her dog reactivity. She has come a long ways and can now be outside supervised with other dogs. Here I am working on her being calm and relaxed even when other dogs are crazy. She did great and even started to fall asleep at one point!
Trainer Erika working with SDIT Oakley. Today we took a trip to the mall to work on Oakleys public access training.

Samford playing with the water hose
Hot weather fun with boarder Samford and my personal dog Yato. They had a blast chasing the water. **if you do this with your dog run the water hose until the water runs cool!**
Lovie and her owner have been coming to me to work on Lovie’s reactivity and she has started doing agility. Lovie has come such a long ways and her owner has put in so much work. Enjoy this progress video! P.S sorry for the roomba noises.
Lovie Heel
Heel practice with Lovie.
Dove takes part in our stay and train program. Currently we have been working on cooperative toenail trims. Dove hates her feet being touched and over the past couple of weeks We’ve worked on desensitizing her feet to touch. She’s progressing wonderfully!
Cozy Obedience
Trainer Erika working with Cozy on her heel, focus and how she responds to new people/ dogs. Cozy is absolutely killing it!
Zelda participated in our one on one training program with trainer Erika. Then she moved to me to for some e collar training and now she is doing agility.
Agility is a great way to further obedience training, build confidence and exercise your dog. Zelda and her owner are doing great!
Zelda E-collar recall
Zelda and her owner working on off leash recall. Zelda’s owner had already done a great job with her recall but wanted to make it even more reliable. The E-collar is a great tool to give your dog some freedom but still have control over them.
Let’s talk about follow through. I think this is one of the most difficult things for pet owners. It’s very easy to get frustrated when things aren’t going how you expect them to and quit. Here is a video of me working with RaLee on an out of sight stay. I want to be able to leave the room then wait 10-15 seconds before returning and rewarding RaLee. RaLee breaks his stay twice, and both times I take him back and start again. The third time I leave he stays until I release him. Giving up in times like these is what can lead to inconsistency in obedience. Be patient, consistent and always follow through.
Working on recall with Yato and Colby (my personal dogs). Recall is one of the most important commands you can teach a dog. Letting your dog off leash without a solid recall is dangerous for both your dog and other peoples dogs.

Training doesn’t have to end once obedience is over. Tricks are a fun way to build your dogs confidence, increase flexibility, coordination, and balance. Best of all it’s a lot of fun. Here is Nala learning the “bow” command.
Maggie’s place progression over the last three weeks. Maggie is a very wiggly little puppy with a lot of energy but is very smart and treat motivated.
