Auburn University faculty, the Domestic Violence Intervention Center and Opelika Animal Hospital have partnered to secure a Safe Housing grant from national animal welfare nonprofit RedRover. Most pets living in homes with domestic violence are abused, and this program will ensure the safety of both survivors and their animal companions.

Medical and surgical diagnostic tests and treatments of animals are similar to those in human medicine. In order to advance knowledge, Auburn Vet Med researchers and clinicians perform studies that investigate new diagnostics and treatments. These discoveries can often be applied to medicine across all species.

Auburn Vet Med graduate student, Jyoti Yadav, is researching rabies treatment for her home country of India and beyond. Rabies is a deadly threat that Yadav has been committed to treating, and to accomplish her goal, she found a strong and supportive partner many miles away from her home: Auburn University
