PSA⚠️
Please crate your dog when you have family members visiting, the holidays are when the most dog bites occur. Even if your dog is "friendly", they're not around children and chaos on a daily basis and 💩 happens.

For those who've been through our training programs, don't forget to Set Yourselves up for Success by:
- Have a crate in your vehicle or set up if you're visiting family (We live in the PNW, no hot cars for us here).
- Crate your dog if you're at home, in a closed off room/area to keep children/people from poking fingers in the crate, cover the crate if needed.
- Wear all your training tools,
- Put your dog on a leash while taking them from the crate to outside for potty breaks, use a long line in the yard.
- "Purge" your dog's pent-up energy before the chaos by treadmilling, doing recall drills, or taking a structured walk/jog,
- Give your family a safety brief and rundown of expectations before going over/coming over.

Also: Don't trust people when they tell you their dog is "friendly". Be prepared to be your dog's advocate, even if it means being "difficult". It's only for a short period of time, and yall can go back to normal when it's over.

Flashback to when I almost lost half a b**b. I went through a whole 2-hr session bleeding through my shirt without realizing the extent of the bite. Please be safe out there 🙏🏾

Woke up to the sound of teeth on plastic, like one of the dogs was chewing on the plastic crate trays.

It drove me nuts, trying to figure out which dog was doing it.

I pottied everyone at 5am, the sound kept going. Fed everyone, the sound kept going. I finally tracked it down and it was coming from inside the trash can.

Danny had brough a dead baby possum inside Saturday night, I took it from him and put it in the trash can. It is now Monday morning, and the thing is alive, trying to eat its way out of the trash can. 🙄

I'm a grumpy sleep deprived person today 😤

Happy Mother's Day to all the mamas out there, and a special tribute to our chosen mothers - the ones who didn't give us life, yet choose to breathe life and love into us 💞

We couldn't get out mother on a plane from Samoa, we're grateful to our aunt and 2nd mom for being present in her stead.

Baby Opal was laid in her final resting place on May 11, 2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Hug your moms and babies for us, we love you all. ❤️❤️‍🩹

Our family gained an angel, her stay with us much too brief.

We ask for some patience these following weeks as our family wades into waters we've never had to navigate before, and thank you everyone who has already shown love and care.

Mama is okay, our hearts are not. It's a special kind of heartbreak when a parent has to bury their child.

A friendly reminder that your relationship with your dog(s), just like any relationship, are always evolving, and that training is only a springboard in the right direction. Always reach out to your trainer(s) if you're struggling with new poor habits, or are in need of a refresher to get you back on track. Update on our lil street fighter from Mexico 🫴🏾 Slow and steady progress, slow and steady progress. Back story: Someone went on vacation to Mexico and developed an attachment with little Cenote here, the "Good Samaritan" decided to uproot this little guy's entire world (he's ~5+yrs) thinking that they could give him a better life. If I was an old war vet street dog living in Mexico, I'd be livid about this weather and having to live my life on a leash too. A friendly reminder that if you're visiting other countries to not feed the local wildlife - including street dogs/cats. If you choose to and they end up following you everywhere, please do not project your human desire onto them and think you'd be doing them a favor bringing them into a lifestyle they never asked for and you weren't prepared for. Cenote ended up on Craigslist and is here for an Aggression Rehab program to help assimilate him to city life and hopefully find him a forever home (he'd prefer a ride back to Mexico). From exploding at dogs within a 2 block radius to being able to let another [calm] dog pass by on the same sidewalk, I'd say we're making slow and steady progress. Rooting for this dog 🫶🏾
