What a great Small Business Saturday turnout. Weather was perfect. Alpacas loved their visitors and so many people got their holiday shopping done in the boutique. Missed it? No worries. I’ll open the boutique for any and all visitors when scheduled. Last but not least…..a HUGE thank you to for always being willing to come out and help with the boutique, the alpacas, field trips, etc. ❤️

The temperatures have definitely dropped but you don’t have to suffer through the chilliness of winter. Did you know alpaca has been reported as being up to 4x warmer than wool? It’s naturally hypoallergenic, fire resistant, wicks moisture, has NO lanolin and feels like cashmere. Behind the scenes of this family photo shoot with the sweetest family. Olly wanted his 6 year birthday pictures with his alpaca friends so we made it happen (along with family holiday pictures) The smoke from the neighbor’s burn pile was not planned but combined with the sunset and the golden hour….the lighting was pretty fantastic. I can’t wait to see the real pictures ❤️

At the end of last month we celebrated our 11th year of being in business. Throughout the last decade our ranch has evolved into a place that brings new information, activities, fun and laughter to visitors of ALL ages. I take great pride is knowing we are the FIRST alpaca ranch in Placer and surrounding counties to offer community activities and events such as Yoga and sound baths with the alpacas, Pay it Forward Craft Events for new small business owners, field trips, Team Building Activities, Corporate Events, Staff Appreciation, lunches, arts and crafts, birthdays, celebrations and SO much more. I take such pride in knowing I’m supported not only by my friends and family but also by the incredible business women and men I surround myself with. Not only has my business blossomed but so has the businesses of - Owner of Waves In Motion (bringing sound bath therapy to the ranch), Stacy Wright of who brought Alpaca Yoga to us, Bob Steiner for the creation of Alpacas Bing Bling, the most unique jewelry, Danny for the idea of having groups out here as part of their journey to their own healing and well being and last but not least …..to my person who brought her love of arts and crafts not only to my visitors but to students from Ophir Elementary and other surrounding schools. (And to Adults too! ❤️) The success of this ranch has been from hard work and the continual love and support of those I surround myself with. Peru Trip 2024 continued. After an exhausting day hiking to Rainbow Mountain and The Red Valley (16,380 ft elevation), we rode our 3+ hour bus ride back to our beautiful Hotel Novotel in Cusco. That night we had to pack our belongings because we were hopping a flight to the next leg of our trip, Arequipa! As soon as we landed, we immediately started our Alpaca Fiesta 2024 activities with tours of 2 of the 3 Michell Group Fiber Factories. (This is where I discovered I LOVE the feel of camel hair. Who would have known? 🤷🏻‍♀️) We got to witness the processing from raw fiber into the most incredible finished products. Afterwards we were treated to a great lunch at this beautiful restaurant where I finally got to meet the man who supplies my boutique with the stuffed animals, pens, key chains, etc that we all love so much …..Oscar Salas (and his beautiful wife Peggy) There was dancing, food, drinks, laughter and fun. A great way to start our Alpaca Fiesta Adventures in Arequipa.
