Meet our first MVUCS patient Mandu!! Mandu’s grandparents brought him to our new Urgent Care center for a laceration on his paw. Dr. Jason Chamberlin cleaned and stitched him up and sent him home ♥️ He did very well and was an absolute sweetheart!! It was a pleasure meeting you Mandu and family!!

"These are a few of my favorite things" 🎵🎶 sings patient Izzy finding her two favorite things while at MVA. Radiology assistant Izzy (who doesn't love to have the same same name?) and the log stuffy in dentistry ♥

Sweet Izzy came to see Dentist Dr. Corinne Durand for Contact Mucositis which causes your body to have an allergy to plaque bacteria. This condition is very painful as ulcers in the mouth can develop. Thankfully this disease is curable after full mouth extraction which is what Dr. Durand did in Izzy's case. The evening of surgery she was wagging her tail and eating very well ♥ Now she will live the rest of her days happy and pain free!

We're very happy to announce that this Thursday, May 1st, Metropolitan Veterinary Urgent Care and Specialty (MVUCS) at 997 Old Eagle School Road, Suite 200, Wayne PA 19087, will be open!

We're additionally thrilled that the doctors at this location are the same doctors at MVA - they'll be rotating through both locations.

Hours for Urgent Care will be 7 days a week from 2:00pm until 12:00am.

This gorgeous girl is Hazel. She saw our Neurologist Dr. Daniella Vansteenkiste, she was battling a fever, back pain and hind end weakness. Using our in-house MRI and blood cultures, she was diagnosed with discospondylitis and bacteria in her bloodstream. Discospondylitis is a serious infection of the spine that is very complex to treat.

We carefully tailored her antibiotics and Hazel's fever improved but she continued to be uncomfortable. After a few days in Critical Care, a CT scan was done, which showed that her spine had become unstable and continued to be a source of pain. The Surgery and Neurology team worked together to stabilize her spine with titanium rods and screws. Hazel recovered quickly and was pain free shortly thereafter! Hazel never looked back, and her tail never stopped wagging!! It wasn't easy but Hazel beat the odds with resilience, fun and an amazing family. Way to go Hazel!

We couldn't resist sharing this picture of her snuggling under a blanket while in the hospital!! The second picture is an x-ray of her spine post-op. And Hazel’s parents sent us these pictures of her enjoying the outdoors again at home after surgery. ♥ Just perfect.

Dr. Schwab and his team at Metropolitan Veterinary Associates were phenomenal while treating Sahara. Sahara is a senior dog who underwent paw surgery. From the first visit to the last post-operative appointment, Dr. Schwab was very honest, caring, and thorough. He and his entire staff were warm, friendly, and professional. With no hesitation, he took on the care of Sahara and went above and beyond to ensure her safety and successful recovery. He communicated with our local veterinarian to ensure Sahara's health and wellness. He has returned our precious and beloved Sahara back to her baseline and has improved her quality of life tremendously. It's truly remarkable to see her get around with ease and speed because of Dr. Schwab and his phenomenal team at Metropolitan Veterinary Associates. I will be forever grateful for Dr. Schwab and Metropolitan Veterinary Associates for making this such an effortless and smooth experience in a time of uncertainty, and most of all, for giving us our precious Sahara back!

This is beautiful Mia! She is a patient of Oncologist Dr. Beth Overley-Adamson. She was diagnosed with Mast Cell Tumor in November 2024, and started chemotherapy in January. We are so happy to say that she graduated from her chemotherapy protocol last week, and is doing really well!! Such a sweet girl...we are so excited for you ♥
