I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone at Metropolitan Veterinary Associates for everything you all have done for Hallie, and my family in general. I have to say, it’s been the best experience I’ve ever had at a vet. Surgery for your
animals can be and is a very stressful process. Surgeons Dr. Hearon & Dr. Chase were amazing throughout the whole process. The level of communication, follow-up, and “bed side manner” was top notch. Beyond the doctors, the entire staff, Jaclyn, the nurse who cared for Hallie for both surgeries was amazing, the customer service helping with billing all the way to the front desk staff. Every step of this process was made easier by the level of care and service provided by everyone at the Hospital. Even Hallie, who generally gets nervous at the vet, was excited to pull up to the building. Again, thank you so much for making a very stressful time such an amazing experience!

I had the absolute best experience with Metropolitan Veterinary Associates. The staff, especially Sarah, could not possibly be nicer. They provide daily follow up calls to let us know how our cat Humphrey was doing post treatment. Even let us know he enjoyed some Tilapia on “Tilapia Tuesday” how sweet! While it was hard to be away from my fur baby for four days I felt safe and confident he was in the best hands possible. Thank you to PetRad and Dr. McLear for the treatment and the staff for taking such great care of Humphrey!

Baddie, AKA Babygirl, came in through our emergency service with a fractured femur. Due to the severity of the break, our surgeon Dr. Dominique Sawyere had to amputate her leg. She was a very happy and brave girl, despite her circumstances and her surgery went very well. She was a sweet angel who put a smile on everyone's face while she was hospitalized. Babygirl was already rockin' it on three legs before she was discharged to continue her recovery at home!

Please join us as we welcome the Rotating Intern Class of 2024-2025 to Metropolitan Vet!

Just as in human medicine, an internship is an intensive, year-long program typically taken by veterinarians who have recently graduated or are looking to expand their practical knowledge. These associate doctors will gain invaluable hands-on experience rotating through our specialty departments, all under the close mentorship of our senior doctors and team. We highly value the opportunity to work with these talented doctors as they continue their careers through veterinary medicine.

The pet care industry is suffering a significant shortage of qualified doctors, and we’re proud to do our part to help nurture the next generation of veterinarians. We're so excited to welcome this year's class, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!

My dog, Macee, and I are finishing up from the recovery of her Adrenal gland surgery that took place on June 24, 2024. Dr. Hearon and her entire team have been nothing short of wonderful.
Macee presented with an ultrasound showing an adrenal tumor from my primary vet. Macee and I came to Metropolitan Vet hospital on his recommendation for an appointment with Dr. Hearon on Tuesday March 19th. During the appointment, it was agreed upon by myself and Dr. Hearon to do some additional testing including a CT scan. Surgery was scheduled for April 8th. Shortly after the CT scan where Macee had been under anesthesia for the second time in a week, she developed a neurological issue with an unknown cause .
Surgery was placed on hold to see if the condition would resolve. Two subsequent appointments were attended to see her progress. At this time it was recommended by the team to pursue some rehabilitative work which was done (outside of Metropolitan). During this time, the surgical team kept in touch with me and answered every question or concern that I had either by a return email or a phone call, and I had a lot!
Finally, Macee was deemed well enough to go ahead with the surgery. The surgery took place on June 24th and as Dr. Hearon proclaimed "it went as exactly as planned". I was given a preliminary cost early in this process with a possible range depending on what was needed during the operation and the end cost was exactly in the range.
Macee has been recovering at home and is doing very well. I've had two follow up phone calls from the surgical team to check on her progress.
The care and communication during this entire process has been exemplary.
From my experience, I highly recommend this hospital and this surgical team.
Thanks very, very much to Dr. Hearon and her entire team.
