ARC CLASS OF 1966 NOTICE: Anita Burns Heath Obituary

We've lost another classmate, Anita Burns Heath.

Please pray for her family as they mourn their loss,

May her memory be eternal in our hearts!

Candice Widener

Anita Burns Heath
Anita Burns Heath passed away on August 19, 2024. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home with her family in Evans, GA. She had been dealing with an extended illness.
Anita was born in Augusta, GA on March 10, 1948. She primarily lived in Augusta while growing up and graduated from Richmond Academy High School in 1966. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1970 and began a teaching career. She was a teacher at Tutt Middle School in Richmond County for 15 years. She was later a pre-school teacher for 12 years at Reid Memorial.
In August of 1980, she met her future husband, Larry Heath, through mutual friends. They began dating and were married in 1981. Anita and Larry shared many interests. They replaced an existing motorcycle with a larger one for travel. Over the years, they took many trips to the mountains and would spend hours just riding mountain roads with Anita leaning back on the backrest of the motorcycle.
Another big part of her life was going to the lake. Initially, she and Larry taught each other how to slalom water ski. After that, other water sports such as knee boarding and tubing were added to the lake activities. Some of her fondest memories were of staying at the lake with her family and having the boat and jet ski in the water, ready to use.
In October of 1984, Anita and Larry were joined by their daughter, Jessi. Anita was always a loving and compassionate mother and was extremely proud of Jessi. She chose to be a stay-at-home mother until Jessi began school. Anita made it a point to be there for all of the activities and concerts that were part of Jessi’s academic life.
Anita loved her home in Woodbridge and enjoyed working in the yard when she could. She also loved being in the sunroom and looking out at the back yard greenery. The squirrels and rabbits were also inhabitants of the back yard for her to enjoy.
Anita was a lover of all animals. A small dog was always a part of her life with her family. The dogs included Poppy, Milli, Hardt, Ellie, and Lilly. Lilly is a miniature schnauzer and has been sitting next to her in the sunroom for the past seven years.
Anita was a good person who was kind and gentle. She loved her husband and daughter very much. She also loved all the small dogs that were part of life.
Anita is survived by her husband, Larry Heath of Evans, GA and by her daughter, Jessi Heath of Bogart, GA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors.
In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Old Fella Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 1437, Waynesboro, GA 30830.

CYNTHIA BALLAS MOOREHEAD

FINAL CALL for BOYS OF SUMMER GOLF AND LUNCH.

We have room for about two additional foursomes plus a couple of threesomes that need a fourth. Plenty of room for those only wanting to come for lunch.
However I need to know something by Monday and payment no later than mid-week. I have to give West Lake CC advance notice on how many to expect.
Thank you, Jim Pardue, '65
