Some stay most of their lives the least some of us can do (if capable) is too give these guys a nice few years of their lives soo they are sent off with love and a family rather than alone as they always have been..

BTW all of you backyard breeders (breeders WITHOUT A LICENSE), more than half of that litter with be in the pound/shelter even if you are selling pure breeds.

I have worked in shelters/stray facilities/rescues and I couldn’t count how many of these breeds of dogs that a plethora of people pay thousands…of dollars$$$ for sitting there in a kennel run waiting for someone to come take them to a new home.

Dog friends are wonderful!!

PSA: Spay/Neuter you pets! This helps prevents a lot of unnecessary litters, hormonal diseases, aggressive behavior and exponential growth in animal populations that require high amounts of euthanasia for space due to over crowed rescue or unwanted animals!!!

2 of my favorite long term clients! ❤️ big guy is skeptical of people at first but he and I just clicked to be good friends! (Treats and peanut butter may have helped in the process and it definitely took some time, but now he comes up right to me and gives me all the kissses and let’s me pet home all over! He’s such a sweetheart! Same with little missy!)

If your kitties are frightened at the vet, i strongly recommend this kennel! I am a fear free certified professional but not many clinics are around here and this will help decrease some the beginning anxiety of being at the vet! So please!!! Kennels like this or easily removalable tops are ideal for our nervous nellies! (We don’t want to drag your precious baby out against their will and upset them, or dump them out as that will aggregate them as well. Please look into Free after options and ask your vet about it. I have a lot of information readily a available if you have any questions or want more information feel free to ask! I have been able to tame animals in the clinic that every other technician has said is untamable, and i got them to trust me and love on me and kiss me lol (of course not every time is perfect) but please send me a dm and i have client handouts that can help you prepare for your visits to make it a less sfresssfull environment to them in your part!!! ❤️💕🐶🐱🐰

I do have openings for pet sitting, occasionally I can do in my home but sometimes it is better for your animals to stay in their home. I do nail trims, a**l glands, small grooming techniques (like paws and face) deep ear cleanings/ ear staining, f***l testing? I can read those as well! send a message my way and I would be delighted to help.

Also finished Intro to Dog Training and Level 2 of Fear Free, so if your pup is having a hard time adapting to a new life please reach out and I would be happy to come over for a meet and greet and give some pointers, help as much with training, etc. (not a professional)

P.S. I have had experience in veterinary services for over 3 years with the military.

I do this every time! Which is why i only walk my dogs in the evening. Please check the ground before walking your dogs. It burns their paw pads and super painful. Would you want to walk barefoot on that hot ground? No! Don’t make your pets do it. But early in the am or in the later afternoon or in the shady trails is nice, and your fur babies will appreciate the time with you, so still take your babies out and about:)

As we head into the beginning of summer and look forward to warmer days. We would like to remind everyone to check the temperature of the pavement before walking your dogs. If it's too hot for you it's too hot for your pup's paws.

2 months ago we lost a beautiful soul. One of my regulars that i pet sit for me Rebel! He loves to bark and wake me up at 5 am to let him out and he always wanted to play fetch at random times, always slept with me when i stayed over, I had to earn his trust which I did quickly because he would bark constantly at people he didn’t know. When my husband came to drop something off he would bark at him until he left because he was trying to protect me. I’ll miss this beautiful, handsome man. Rest In Peace buddy, no more pain. 🐾❤️

Very nice informative article. Down in the south, the winter does NOT exist, all of the ectoparasites are there. YOU as a pet owner will only visually see 5% of what is actually there! This is why we recommend YEAR ROUND flea, tick, and heart worm medication. You may say “my dog is an indoor dog” well does your dog walk out to go to the bathroom? It only takes a second for a flea to jump on your dog and lay eggs and half will fall to the carpet, bedding, sheets, etc. and half stay on your pets if they are not protected. There are plenty of different preventatives available. The ones over the counter are not as reliable as the type you get from a veterinary office. Or order online and have the veterinarian write a prescription. This is not only about scratching, these parasites are living in your home sleeping in your beds. When it’s chilly out? They will move indoors to keep warm NOT die out. Even indoor cats will get these. You open your door and one infected mosquito comes in and bites your cat, not your cat is infected. Or a flea is on your dog or your pants and you come in and now they have access. Your indoor pets are not safe either. Hartz brand anything has been shown to be incredibly toxic to animals. Those flea baths only get rid of what’s there but do NOT protect them. If you need recommendations of effective preventatives, ask your vet! Take care of your animals AND yourself!!

External parasites such as fleas, ticks, or mites can irritate pets and carry disease. But treatment, control and prevention are much easier than in the past.

During this time we will be home with our lovely animals and see more of their activities they do during the day! Well if you have some quirks that you’re trying to work out with your pup here are some pointers to go off of. Sometimes you don’t need to actually hire someone, you just need some time and some patience🙏🏼❤️ (with love and cookies of course!) if anyone has questions there are local trainers in the area of Savannah and i have some knowledge in the field as well! Let’s be productive during this time and stop blaming our dogs for being dogs and getting rid of them because you don’t “have time for them”. Right now, we’ve got nothing but time!! Help your babies out with simple things on your own!! (and if they need more training, there are plenty of local training places and pet smart offers a variety of classes.)

Stay safe out there y’all! We are one community and we need to work together and stop fighting each other! Our species is so much more advanced than it was before with the last set of plagues and disasters, our medicine and our scientists are working hard! Thank your friends who are still working and doing their jobs! We should appreciate those who are out there fighting and helping. Also be mindful of the people who were laid off during this time. Remember we are ONE community and we should all be working together to get through this to end the epidemic! Stop expecting special treatment because you think you’re a priority. Everyone is a priority right now! Not everyone will share the same opinion about certain topics, and that’s ok, we are allowed to have different opinions that is our right and what makes us different! So right now is not the time to be rude and snarky to each other, it’s the time to listen to each other and understand.

Keep your pets, stop getting rid of them because of this s**t! They love you and don’t understand what’s going on! Yes there is a feline coronavirus strain but no it’s not COVID-19 and it’s not susceptible to humans or dogs.

If you’re sick, stay indoors and get better! Stop sharing ridiculous posts all over the web to scare the media, it’s stupid and pointless and it makes you just look dumb. Most of the time those are just foreign or political links that put cookies on your devices and every share and every click on will just give them more access to your system.

Don’t over look these precious babies! My cat was terrified of everything and everyone and all he did was hide. And i worked slowly with him and i brought him home because he would only come out of hiding for myself. He would sit in my lap and he was sick and scared so he was not a popular kitty at the shelter. I brought him home and granted he’s still scared of new people but with me, my husband and my 2 dogs (that’s right dogs!) he loves them! He knows how to come on command, to sit on command, and how to roll over on command! He sleeps in my arms every night where i hold him like a teddy bear, he loves to be carried on my shoulder like a parrot, he’s the most lively and sweet cat I’ve ever met, i clip his nails without any issues, completely docile! And he’s never scratched, bit, or hissed at anyone in my house including dogs!
So sometimes you just need to take time with these fur babies, i told you my story so y’all can understand that it happens so often, stop shopping with breeders (bc we need to shut them down, if you’re a breeder I’m sorry if we’re friends that’s cool but i definitely do NOT agree with what you do) or at the store, go to your shelters! Those are the animals that people abandoned and they need our help!

I am a fear Free Certified professional and i believe all those who work with our fur babies should be because, you can tell the difference when you walk in a veterinary office that is fear free and they do everything they can to minimize stress and make your fur baby and you happy and calm and one that just tries to get them in and get them out without actually caring about them. I truly care about each and every animal i come into contact with and will treat them with care! Heart worm disease is extremely important to be aware of if you have pets! 70% of INDOOR cats become positive for Heartworm due to those sneaky mosquitos that fly in every time you open your door. There is NO treatment for heart worms in cats! So having them on prevention is the smartest and safest step a pet owner can do.
“My dog only goes out to go to the bathroom” yes in that short period of time, a mosquito can land on them and infect them and they won’t pop positive on a test for 6 months. Heartworms slowly fill the cardiac muscle and when the heart rate increases (ex: running, coughing, exercises) the heartworms stress the heart and pulmonary vessels and if it goes untreated your pet will feel as if they are suffering. Not a good way to go. Here are a couple fact sheets about Heartworm disease. I know quite a bit more so if you have any more questions please feel free to ask or talk to your vet clinic, they can help you understand the importance and how to get started on testing and preventing!

Flea and tick prevention is incredibly important especially here in the south! Year round! It does NOT get cold enough here to get rid of those nasty guys. You may not think your pet has them because “they only go out to use the bathroom” well that’s all the time it needs to jump on your dog and you can only visually see 5% of what is actually there! Making sure you are on a good product is the 2nd step. Anything hartz brand THROW OUT! They have nonstop recalls and have caused seizure symptoms and a lot of skin issues and more on animals and should just shut down. Talk to your vet about what options they recommend. For houses with kids i recommend no topicals for the reason being kid touching dog then licking hands. Also with dogs who roll around in the dirt. Frontline has shown to become resistant in the Georgia area as well as advantix. The only collar i have had success with is SERESTO. Yes it’s more expensive but if you can’t afford to give your dog the best treatment then you might need to re-evaluate. Don’t get an animal if you can’t afford to take care of them. Oral preventatives are my personal favorite! That way i know my pet is getting the full dose and not wiping any off. Please keep your pets including your indoor cats on flea, tick and Heartworm preventatives and this article tells the severity of what no treatment can do. Keep your fur babies itch free! I can’t tell you how many times owners brought in their dogs not knowing why their dog is itchy and losing hair when they’ve been on a collar or topical med or nothing at all and i find fleas and they act surprised, that means those fleas are in your home, in your bed, in your clothes, just prevent, it’s way easier.
