Meet Rocky (boxer) and Riley (doodle). Rocky is only 3 months old and is taking part in our puppy program. We will be working on potty training, crate training, and cery basic obedience with him. Riley is 1 year old and is in our pick 3 program. We will be teaching her recall, and working on bad behaviors such as barking and charging at the door. I am so excited to be working with these awesome pups!

Your dog will stay in our certified dog trainers home. They will get plenty of structured walks and socialization. All dogs must be up to date on vaccines. Required vaccines are rabies, distemper, and bordetella.

Kim Cain is the founder of Kindred Cain9 and the spouse of a 30-year United States Navy CMC (now retired). Kim aims to apply her knowledge, skills, and experience to fulfill the mission of Kindred Cain9, where help is just a loyal and loving dog away.

Kim attended the Master Dog Trainer Course at the School for Dog Trainers at Highland Canine Training in North Carolina. She graduated as the class Valedictorian and was awarded the prestigious Presidential Leadership Award. She has been selected as Training Director of the School for Dog Trainers at the Highland Canine Hill Country Campus slated to open in 2023.

Kim knows that service animals can assist with the specific needs of our veterans, active-duty military service members, and community first responders. She is able to work with individuals to help address their unique needs, enabling them to enjoy life to the fullest.

Kim also has unique insight into the world of military spouses – who often spend long periods of time supporting the home front, raising children while their spouses are deployed for weeks, months, sometimes even a year or more. Kim felt safer with dogs in the house.

Rottweilers, Dobermans, Mastiffs, and American Bulldogs were a few breeds of choice. These powerful, big breed dogs needed to be well trained. Developing her natural gifts and passion for training, Kim has been on quest to learn all she could about dogs. Kim finds joy in bringing her life experiences full circle by providing service dogs to our nation’s heroes.

✨Meet trainer Amber Bettencourt✨

Amber has worked professionally with dogs for 8 years. In the summer of 2021, she founded her dog boarding business Paws N’ The House. Since then, she has made changes to the company as she wanted to further her education in the pet industry by attending Highland Canine School for Dog Trainers. She was enrolled in their Obedience and Behavior Modification program, graduated in March 2022, and received a certification as a professional dog trainer specializing in behavior modification.

Hey everyone, my name is Amber Bettencourt. I have been working with dogs for 6 years and in the summer of 2021 I founded my dog boarding business Paws N’ The House. I wanted to further my education in the pet industry so I attended Highland Canine School for Dog Trainers. I graduated in March 2022 and received my certificate as a professional dog trainer specializing in obedience and behavior modification. I plan on continuing my education moving forward and spending the summer of 2022 on Martha’s Vineyard. I am excited to announce I will be joining the Ferry Good Dog Training team which is comprised of professional and Master Dog Trainers. Being the only company on Island with multiple certified dog trainers and all of which are graduates of Highland Canine School for Dog Trainers I can’t wait to contribute, learn, and grow with this team. I am a Martha’s Vineyard native and I am happy to come back to my home and provide pet care services for all animals living here or traveling from afar to MV!
