Enrichment is easy, mastering technology not so much.
A lot of dog training focuses on obedience, and while it is super important, it’s also important that training is fun for you and your dog! Teaching cues just for fun is a good way to build confidence in your dog as well as help build a stronger bond with them.
We are teaching Graham “bang”. Eventually we will work up to him holding the position, and add in a “release” cue to let him know it’s time to get up.

I don’t take enough videos or photos of my clients since we are so busy having fun with training but this Duke, who is apart of our 7 week Puppy Manners Program.
This is his first outing since coming home from the shelter. Prior to this outing Duke was VERY nervous of a collar and leash. Which is fair because the only time he ever wore them was to go to the vet.
For us to socialize out in public we first had to change the way Duke felt about wearing his gear.
Our first outing was very successful, we kept it low key and fun for Duke.
We chose, a area that wasn’t to busy during the week days & took the opportunity to teach Duke that the world around him isn’t scary after all!
We made sure, we were aware of Dukes surroundings at all times and went at his pace.
Peep, the last video to see how comfortable Duke was feeling 🥰
(FB will not let us add videos & photos to the same post, so we chose the video!!)

Koda, having a blast with her flirt pole! This is a great outlet for those with dogs who have a higher prey drive and love to chase! It’s also super enriching! #flirtpole #dogtraining #enirchment #fearfreepets
Myth or Fact❓
Most people think that dogs only wag their tails when they're happy, but in fact a wagging tail doesn’t always mean a friendly or happy dog.
As pet parents it is important to be aware of your dogs full body language not just the tail. 🐩
For questions or more info on how to understand your dogs body language feel free to reach out!

⚡️Stress signals can be hard to spot. They happen so quickly and are missed if we don’t know what to look for.
⚡️Can you spot the stress signals?
⚡️Noticing these subtle stress signals makes you a dog advocate.
⚡️Your dog will thank you for reading their body language and come to you for comfort or “help” more often.

A perfect morning for leash training. Gunner has been working hard to get to this point. 😍

Here is a temporary solution for nail trims for dogs who find it unpleasant.
DIY SCRATCH BOARD! 🤩
Teaching your dog to scratch at the board:
1. Mark & reward for any interaction with the board. Instead of feeding to your dog’s mouth, toss the treat away to be retrieved.
2. Mark & reward for paw touching, grazing, coming near scratch board. Toss reinforcement away.
3. Mark & reward for paw touching scratch board. Toss treat away.
4. Mark & reward for more paw touching, NOW start rewarding to dogs mouth.
5. Mark & reward for scratching, even if just for a second. Reward to dogs mouth.
✨Do this for 2-3 times a week for short sessions and you will have your dog filing their own nails!
✨This is a temporary solution, while you work the proper handling skills and desensitization.
✨We suggest you reach out to groomers who offer “Happy visits” in the area and/or anyone who is fear free certificated.
✨This is a wonderful FB group to join for tips!

“Why should I let my dog sniff on walks?”
This is such a great question, we as trainers receive ALL the time. 🐶
✨Our dogs have OVER 300 million olfactory receptors, way more than we have by a land slide dude. AMAZING 🤩
It’s helps release energy, decrease heart rates & can help improve behaviors.
Let your dog be a dog.. #letthemsniff
Ohhh how we love Mabel!! 🥰
Dog training isn’t supposed to be serious all the time. It is supposed to be fun and enjoyable for both owner and dog. 🐕
We encourage our clients to end a training session with a fun trick or even playtime!
Make training fun! Not a chore! 😆
✨✨Don’t forget we offer group class training! 🍪🎾

Here is Theo practicing his down/stay in a very distracting environment! It may not look like much is going to you but the people behind us were tossing/bouncing a ball about 40 feet away while a little girl on the side walk was running back and forth. Theo’s loves loves balls. So we decided to take advantage of our opportunity to practice stay and recall at the same time. Look at the recall! He is fabulous!
About 5 minutes after this video was taken, Theo decided he wanted to chase the bouncing ball. Mid run, I recalled him back and was SOOO freaking excited he chose me over something that is very high value to him. (He didn’t even hesitate to come back to me) 🥰
His reward was getting to play and interact with the strangers behind us. (With their permission of course.)
Recall/Stay with distractions take time. These are behaviors that do not happen over night and will gradually get better over-time as long as you are reinforcing it!
Remember, to think about what’s doing on in your dogs environment and use it to your advantage! 🐾

Reason 512 why I love my job, Gigi!
Here are mom and I working on a little name game fun which sets us up to start teaching a reliable recall and amongst other things like being able to get Gigi’s attention in a distracting environment. She is doing a fabulous job! 🥰
