I have taken my phone # off of this page because I am no longer Animal Control in Augusta. If you need help with a problem call city hall or the sheriff office. I have retired and left the shelter. I will miss the dogs but you have to let it go when you know it's time. Thank you City of Augusta for giving me the chance to take care of the dogs.

There has been sick Racoons roaing in town. I was just informed that a few of them were sent off and tested and they came back positive for distemper. So if you have pets that are outside ( dogs or cats ) make sure they have been vaccinated. Distemper is very serious and contagious. If people don't take precautions then the distemper will escalate. We need to do our part and be responsible pet owners and get them vaccinated. You can go to tractor supply and get the vaccine and do it yourself. I am letting people know this so it can be controlled. Please take precautions with your pets.

I will be leaving the shelter around the middle of December. We are working to find as many of these dogs as we can homes. So please let us know if you see one you like.

In the next few weeks you will see photos of the dogs at the Augusta Shelter. We are going to be trying to find as many of these dogs a home. I will be doing free adoptions. They will be altered (spayed / neutered ) before leaving the shelter. You will be ask to fill out a adoption application. This is to try and ensure our dogs go to good homes.
