It's been a while since I posted anything, so I took a walk out to see the cows while I was watering. (Hopefully by next year, I won't have to lug hoses to the barn a couple times a day. 🤞) It's been a little chilly here with a few below zero days and some snow. At least it will be a white Christmas this year. 🙂🎄

You know it's cold out when the dairy cow that has been dry for almost one whole year, comes running to the barn and wants to come in. Let's just say she got her way because she escaped out the gate when Madi was bringing Revan in to milk. So both cows are in the warm barn tonight, and most likely tomorrow too. Tulip is due in one month.

Happy Tuesday! We got about 4 inches of snow yesterday. It was chilly here this morning. Temp of 12, with a wind chill of 2 when I did barn chores. Doesn't look very warm for the next week. 🥶 The cows however, are enjoying their new barn. They were all cozy and laying down this morning.

Went to check the fence this morning and the cows thought I was switching them to another pasture.

Finally able to bale the rye. We'll wrap it later. Hopefully Cody will be home early enough to help, otherwise me and Madi will have to.

It's a little wet after the 4.75" of rain yesterday. The cows are stuck on the driest area of their pasture, which is ok. There's plenty of grass and water to drink. 🙄 But we have to get Revan back here for milking tonight; then she's staying in until the water goes down. Madi and I put the horses out for a while and cleaned their stalls, and then we cleaned the flooded pullet pen, Revans tie stall, and Penelopes pen. The basement is starting to dry out a little. We swept up all the water, and left the basement door open with a fan going. Hopefully Goober doesn't move in. 😬 Potato is upstairs with Madi so she doesn't escape. Let's pray for some drier weather. 🙏😊
