Keanu and I were able to pick wild blackberries this afternoon.

Normally I'm not able to pick them until August, plus we just walked to the closest patch near my property.

This past Tuesday I tried an apple 🍏 from one of the neighbors tree and they are almost ready to pick as well.

Maverick understands the assignment!

It was brought up this week about dry hooves by a farrier and he suggested dumping/cleaning out water💧troughs and/or overflowing water💧 troughs, so your horse's are able to stand in the water💧and soak it all up.

Maverick gets hosed off at least once daily in the summer☀️ and I make sure he stands in the water💧
for a bit afterwards.

We made sure to keep busy this 4th of July 🇺🇲

I wanted to move a black shelf over from the foaling barn to the bigger barn and wash all my buckets 🪣 that have been piling up. Both got done and a LOT more.

Feed room got changed around and still working on it and need to get 1 more metal trash 🗑 can for grain. Was able to move all my extra supplements also into the feed room and into a locking 🔒 metal cabinet.

Trying to use up the nutrena mare & foal grain, well if Maverick will let me. I've tried switching completely over to just the proforce fuel and he wasn't having it. Plus I need to use up the bedding pellets.

Practiced another facial on Maverick. This time I did one side with a 30 blade and the other with a 40 blade and 50 blade and razor over muzzle and eyes. So will see what side I like better.

The Gillette Venus Facial Razor has worked great for those hard to razor areas, I've also been using their regular 5 blade razors for the most part, well they were mine now they are ours 🤣 the things I do for my horses.

I finally got brave enough to try razoring Maverick. I need more practice, but it's great to have such a perfect model. 🥰

The only ever time I tried is when I had Buffy and that was the early 2000s.

I thought I had Brooke the Clipper Girl "How To Clip A Miniature Horse" dvd 💽 but can't find it and I know I don't have the "Miniature Horse Facial and Blending" dvd 💽

Anyone have either before I purchase new?

Maverick enjoyed some grass after getting his hooves saned/trimmed and being hosed off in this hot 🔥 🥵 weather we are having.

This goof 🤪 ball loves ❤️ having his hooves sanded/trimmed.

Also yesterday Maverick had an exam, his blood drawn for wellness labwork and microchip implanted.

They had sedate him to place the microchip, since he was moving around for his blood draw and then he turned into a snake 🐍 when they came with the sedative 🤣 He was definitely thinking you already poked me twice for blood and I'm done with you. (Thankfully I won this exam in a raffle, because it was less than ideal and he was definitely feeding off of my energy)

I made sure to weigh him and he's at 180 #, which is what I'm getting at home 🏡 with my measurement.

Clean up day for Gigi, Sailor Boy, Mama, Juniper and Cozy.

Everyone except Mama got a bath as well, I didn't even get a chance to fully trim Mama's hooves before she has other plans that might involve me getting hurt. Maverick and Night were playing and she's already high strung.

5C Ranch Talk To Me Goose aka Maverick ❤️🤍💙 was Grand Champion 🏆 Amateur Stallion under Paul Tarap and Reserve Grand Champion 🏆 Amateur Stallion under Cindy Carlson, then Unanimous Grand Champion 🏆 Junior Stallion

Maverick took the entire show in with ease, he has so much personality and have to pitch myself that he's actually mine and he's got a bright 🌞 his future ahead.

Maverick and I survived his first night 🌙 away from home 🏡

I didn't tell him I forgot a stuffed animal 🧸so I drove 30 minutes away to get him one 😅 at Target plus I forgot Tylenol at home as well and my knee is still hurting from my fall through the back porch.

Maverick and I sure had a rough week 🙃. While lunging him he slipped on the grass because he was being goofy 🤪 and wiped out on his entire right side. He was sure embarrassed 😳 by the entire thing.

Then I fell through my back porch while chasing a baby Silver Sebrigh, my left leg 🦵 has seen better days 🤣

19 Silver Sebright's finally arrived home this afternoon 🏡 today after being shipped 📦 out on Monday from Cackle Hatchery and they are enjoying the Harman Stoves

❤️🤍💙 Maverick ❤️🤍💙 was so excited to get back to working out💪today, we took Monday off since I had been awake ⏰️ since 1 AM. After his workout 💪we rotated pastures, had a bite of grass and walked the fence line.

Maverick's not spoiled with 3 12x12 stalls and playtime after his work out.

My neighbor had a tree 🌳 cut down today and I had to be nosey and asked about the person and talked him into cutting down the last Ponderosa Pine since it was the biggest one and I wasn't as confident on cutting it down. Plus we discussed logging the rest of the 12 acres since this is what he does for a living for the past 30 years. We will start late 2025 since he will be deployed until then. What's even better is he grew up near my property and played on my property as a kid. It's like Grandpa since him to me today. 💚

Fresh shavings are always the best 👌 👍 😍

Maverick's very picky/spoiled about his stall. He loves fluffy shavings, very clean water and all the toys 🧸 🔫 😄

💜 Pebbles 💜

I like to check on my herd in the summer ☀️ pasture daily. Mary and Winnie are fitting in well, they're still unsure about their new life. Before me they were with a goat herd in a small enclosure, then put into a stall when I got them so they could get used to me. I found out iced animal crackers are a favorite 😍

March 1 means I move donkeys/horses to the summer pasture. And Dexter had to be removed from that pasture, so I had him walk the fence lines with me this morning 🌄 He is such a good boy and love everything about him, but the braying in the middle of the night 🌙
