Remember these guys from yesterday? They are heart worms! When an animal is bitten by an infected mosquito tiny microscopic larva enters in to the body and makes its way to the heart where they fully mature after 6 months. These little worms invade the heart, lungs and blood vessels. This can cause lasting damage if it goes untreated and the treatment itself is very expensive. Make sure you are giving your pets their monthly heart worm prevention!
