Savannah’s brother was admitted to the ICU over the weekend with GBS, a very serious condition that has left him partially paralyzed with doctors saying it could take nearly a year for him to return to work.
His wife, our sister-in-law, has had to take time off work to be with him at the hospital and take care of their two kiddos at home.

When your dog’s hair gets wet in the water and stays wet for for an extended period of time, the moisture causes the hair to curl and then it dries wrapped around itself, causing matting and tangles.

Regular grooming is even more important during the warmer months when your pup is enjoying all the water activities!

“I’ve never had my dog groomed, am I supposed to tip?”

Tips are NEVER expected, but GREATLY appreciated. ✨

1️⃣ Tire your pup out! Go for a walk, run, or play fetch before your dog’s appointment so they’re less likely to resist during their groom.

2️⃣ Try CBD or calming spray! You can find these at your local pet store or online, or at the vet. Please ask your veterinarian before giving this to your pup!

3️⃣ Be confident when handling your pup in front of the groomer. If your dog senses you are nervous, they will feed off of your energy. Be confident and let your pup know you are comfortable with the situation.

4️⃣ While this won’t help immediately, brushing your dog and handling their ears/tail/paws regularly will desensitize your pup to grooming so it’s less stressful when it’s time to see the groomer. This will help tremendously in the long run!

5️⃣ If all else fails and your pup is still too anxious being groomed, you can talk to your veterinarian about prescription medication for your dog to take before grooming.
